Faces off on ESPNU at 1 PM EST. Going to be a strength vs. strength battle between ND's #1 defense and Denver's #1/#2 offense. Not really sure who has the edge in this game. Most experts are picking Denver as they don't really think we can score enough goals and think that Denver's offense is good enough to put up at least 8 on anyone.

I'll also be running a live blog for Inside Lacrosse here. Hopefully the string of bad ND athletic results ends today.

All depends on the offense. I'm confident that our D can hold Matthews and the Denver offense to 8 or less. I'd hate to lose a 6-5 or 7-6 game, which is entirely possible considering how our offense has generally been inept.
GO IRISH!

Our second line of midfielders needs to play well. They have been a surprising non-factor this year despite producing as freshman and sophomores in similar roles in the past. Most thought Pat Cotter and Steve Murphy would really take a step forward this year and they haven't. If we can get any kind of production out of them I think we can win.

Fell behind early but have rebounded to take a 2-1 lead late in the first.

Up 5-1!!!!! Our defense is shutting Matthews and Denver down, and our offense is looking great!

ND playing really well right now. 1 EMO goal, 1 lucky goal, 1 transition goal off a freak break... and then 1 legitimate goal off of settled offense. That's really good defense against Denver.

ND's offense has 7 goals from 7 different players. That's nuts.

No, it's tied up 9-9 in the 4th with about 4 minutes to play. ND blowing their offensive opportunities and not winning faceoffs. SMH.

Dammit. They were just up by 4 it seemed like. Looked like they had in under control.

Won it in the 3rd OT. I am sure Lax is too busy dancing on his couch to post.

Yeah, and typing my post game wrap for Inside Lacrosse. Trying so hard to call out Tierney for going to a stall offense when he publicly ranted about Ohio State doing that to his team to start the year. It was difficult.
