Take a break from recruiting.

I was driving home from work listening to the Michael Kay Show on the radio and the discussion was about the go to karaoke song that him and Don La Greca sing.

So, ladies and gents, what is your go to karaoke song?

Mine: Wham - Wake Me Up Before You Go Go

Is it suppose to be a song you would or would never sing at Karaoke?

Haha I look forward to people's responses.
I don't karaoke, but I do sing and play guitar, and soon mandolin, in an acoustic duo.

I have always wanted to do a proper Meatloaf "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" duet in all honesty.

That would be cool. Who would be your choice for duet partner?

A song that you usually sing if you do karaoke. If you have never done karaoke, which song would you sing?

I don't do karaoke, but this would probably be the song I'd chose:

I can't hit the high "notes" required for Wipe Out any longer so I'd probably settle for Telstar. Or something by Tom Waits, probably (Looking For) The Heart Of Saturday Night.

[Waits has a distinctive voice, described by critic Daniel Durchholz as sounding "like it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months, and then taken outside and run over with a car." Just about right for me these days. And to think, I was a soloist in the St. John Vianney choir as a soprano in second grade. ]

I wouldn't come close to hitting the high notes, I'd just be hoping everyone was drunk enough to not care. If I was real drunk, I might be able to pull off a Bob Dylan tune.

I'm having flashbacks of watching karaoke in Asia. Asians love to get drunk and sing Elvis and Michael Jackson songs.

I can hit any Bon Jovi high note and keep singing all night...
But I can hit every Sebastian Bach high note and tear my throat up...but I can do it once! haha

I would like to add that I don't generally do either of these. ^

3 years ago, my buddies took me to a bar on my birthday, and it was karaoke night. I had been dating my wife for about a week then, and I sang "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain to her.

Fast forward 3 years later...school talent show that I run, and at the end of it I sing "I'll Be" to her, but right near the end I had one of the students stop the CD. I went to my wife's seat, said a little spiel about love and all that, and then proposed to her. (Thank God she said yes!) The students were flipping out, her parents flew in for it on the down-low - it was pretty cool.

Back in our 20's my 2 buddies and I would sing End of the Road by BoysIIMen. Sounds kinda gay, but man, we met our fair share of ladies. A couple solo go-tos: American Girl, Glory Days, Jumper, and anything by Green Day.

I always handled "The Highwaymen," Waylon's portion.

"Across the river deep and wide..."
