some film on him

2013 Jacob Matuska - Bishop Hartley - Jr yr - TE DE 82 - PROMO

starting to pick up some big time offers.

Cincy
Illinois
North Carolina St
Syracuse
Toledo

and Oklahoma just this week.

we could get involved later in the process...i see him as a tackle in college personally. plays in very run heavy/wing t/triple type of offense. didn't look to be athletic enough to be a Tight End in our system.

this kid is a tackle imo after seeing him play in high school...plays in a run heavy, navy looking offense.

I've read elsewhere people have said that we would be the favorite to land him. Is there any connection other than us being possibly his best offer right now?

This kid can block and looks nasty while doing so. I liked the tape. Tackle? Nah, I disagree.. TE all the way.

Update this boys profile. We are the team to beat.

They say he has the frame to grow into a tackle.

247: :s::s::s::s: #6 TE #159 Overall

Yeah I'm going to update every one of my threads once all 4 (247-Scout-Rivals-ESPN) come out with their first rankings...that way I'm not going crazy constantly updating.

.....but just for you I'll put those 247 rankings up there now.

This kid goes to one of my rival high schools. He is a big boy but yes he should end up on the O-Line. I heard he grew up a big ND fan. We should be in the lead for this kid.

I just talked to one of my friends in my class and knows Jacob pretty well and he said he has been waiting for this offer. I wouldn't be surprised if he committed soon.

imo he is a future o lineman but that offense doesn't really give him a chance to show a lot besides blocking. Although it isnt d1 it would be nice to get a kid from a catholic school program outside of the cinci area...specialy in urban liars back yard. Great "little" program there at Hartley, it's fun to watch them play.

Whoa I didn't realize he was from Columbus. This kid goes to school like 5.5 miles from my apartment. I will have to catch a game of his this fall, but only if he's Irish.

My HS held him to one catch for three yards in their second round playoff match up. Of course Hartley only threw two passes and rushed for almost 300 yards.

The fact that Hartley is in the same Region as Eastwood and Genoa is some sort of freakish athletic gerrymandering on someone's part.

yeah I remember watching the highlights from that game and it was like watching a BCS team against a DIII team. They have a running back that is legit, not sure what year he is or what is going on with him.

A poster on ISD said that Matuska would purposely wear a Notre Dame tie to school on days he knew coaches of other programs would be there. Love the trolling if its true.

Would he be better TE or OL for Notre Dame. He seems a little small in weight to be an ideal lineman in my opinion. I would like to think he can be one of our two TE for this class. He is ranked as the #4 TE in the class, what would his rank be if he was considered an OL.

Right now, I would like to see him stay a TE...

I think he may be to slow to play tight end. I think if he can put on weight he can become a lineman. Watching him play basketball he wasn't very fast.

he would need to show something on the camp circuit in terms of athleticism to be a solid receiving threat at the next level...imo.

reminds of prestwood in a way, but not sure if he's that athletic...time will tell.

i like the fact though that a big guy like that can play hoops. best example of a kid's footwork.

Looks to me like he can catch the ball regardless of his perceived lack of athleticism. Pluse he can block. Sign him up.

Wiltfong says the staff wants him to visit the 3rd.

If he does, be on commit watch.

Alright, if he was a linebacker, he would kind of be like Hercules... if he has trouble catching at the next level, I wouldnt mind seeing him as a linebacker...
