Josh is Faster than George

Josh certainly ran well (actually both did). But looking at the results its very confusing. I have been in track for a while, and its still hard. For example:

60m prelims:
Josh won his heat in 6.913s
George was third in his heat in 6.909s
So, while Josh won his heat, George ran faster (well, the basically ran the same time, but yeah know). Josh qualified for the finals, George did not (1st guy not to), even though George ran faster(kind of).

200m:
Josh- 21.68 for 2nd in his heat.
George- 21.74 for 1st in his heat.
Both qualifiy for the finals, though George has a better seed (better lane)
Then in the final George beat Josh (were not in the same heat):
21.47 to 21.79
George won his heat, while Josh was 4th in his (which was a bit better).

Its kind of confusing, especially how George can run faster than Josh in the 60m, but no qualify while Josh does. Basically, to make it to the finals you have to win your heat or have one of the next 4 fastest time. Josh got lucky with a slow heat, george was unlucky with a fast heat.

Congratulations to the Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams, really nice to see us competing at a high level in the non-revenue sports. Although they don't get nearly the attention of Football or Basketball, the time and effort that these athletes put in to their sport in addition to school is really admirable. These kids leave college, on average, way ahead from a maturation standpoint than the average kid that gets out of class and plays some video games before he heads over to Bridget's for a couple of drafts.
