In your face. "No, in your face".

Jan Brewer, Obama Face Off Over Book, Immigration Issues

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer traded words with President Obama after she greeted him at a Phoenix airport Wednesday.

Brewer and Obama "spoke intensely for a few minutes" after he landed at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, according to a White House pool report. At one point, the GOP governor shook her finger at the president.

"He was a little disturbed about my book," ...

I'm from AZ, but I was at ND at the time all this Brewer stuff was happening. I can't believe she won an election to stay as governor.

Actually considering the history of Arizona it is not that surprising. They still very much identify with that confederate history.

I can't believe that some community organizer from Chicago (city of crooks) won an election.

And going a bit further, he has the audacity to come down to boarder states and tell us how to run our boarders...while not doing much at the federal level.

And you all seem to be overlooking the "power grab" that Obama has on her right arm....

But that's Ok....The almighty can do as he sees fit.

Um, no we don't.

She must be a racist......

This love affair with Obama and his followers is sickning. It was a big d*mn joke when a shoe was thrown at our last prez...

I'm pretty sure at the time of the shoe throwing, a majority of Americans would have liked to throw a similar insult at Bush as well.

Well then that would make it perfectly fine then.

Exibit A........And it wasn't an insult...it was a shoe.

Again, but that was ok. Finger wagging? Totally off limits.

This kind of thing, and the public's fascination with it, are just stupid. Sorry. Who cares? Obama and Brewer are both adults. I'm sure they can both handle someone getting upset with them. This love affair that some Americans have with "bipartisanship" and "working together" is just not realistic and has never existed. Ever hear of Burr and Hamilton? Hamilton and Jefferson? Andrew Jackson and anyone against him? The real definition of "bipartisan" is: agreeing with my side. Get over it. We have a divided gov't for a reason: so it's actually difficult to radically change things. That's a good thing.

With everything that is important in life and this country, why do we continue to focus on melodrama like this? No wonder we are in the position we are.

Actually, throwing a shoe at someone is considered the biggest insult you can do to someone in many parts of the world, especially in the Arab world.

And... If someone was wagging his or her finger in my face, I would consider that insulting. But hey, maybe that's just me.

Community organizers try to organize communities to fight AGAINST corrupt and lazy politicians. I'm from Chicago and we do have a number of corrupt politicians but Obama has NEVER been accused of any wrongdoing. Take shots at the things he believes all you want but it's just foolish to imply that he is a crook.

I don't know enough about the border situation in Arizona, so I can't speak to that.

I'm guessing that when President Bush was in office you didn't like the way that people (read: liberals) unfairly bashed him. Your comments are no better.

Oh, and before you accuse me of having a love affair with Obama- know that I am planning to abstain in this next election.

As would a majority of Americans today would like to throw much more than an insult at the "community organizer" that's half-heartedly trying to impersonate the role of a president!

HA....And Bush deserved a lot of the flak he got, no doubt...And I don't feel sorry for any politican. I wasn't really a fan of Bush....but he wasn't any worse than Obama. The same things that liberals destroyed Bush about (war mongering, oil profittering, and wall street deals) Obama is doing himself!!

As far as your boarder comment-Neither does Obama or anyone else in washington...so they need to stay outta it. Let these boarder states (I live in one) take care of it the way they see fit if you're not gonna do your job on the federal level.

first of all, I don't have a horse in this race. But, where do you see a power grab? I know his hand is on her left arm, but there is zero indication that it was a "power grab"...

And I could give a s*** about the "arab" world or their animalistic ways. In American, where we live, throwing a shoe is throwing a shoe. It's a lot more dangerous than wagging a finger.

You wanna insult someone, you don't do it by throwing something.

Good post, Wave. Well said.

But I also think we'd be remiss if we didn't mention East Coast rappers and West Coast rappers, the Hatfields and McCoy's, Skinny Elvis and Fat Elvis, Orenthal James Simpson and The State of California, New Coke and Original Formula, Jacob and Edward, North and South, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Dan and Dave, and Lassie and Benji.

Hence my anger. We have much more important things. New Coke!??????????!!!! My hands are trembling as I type.

Good for Brewer. I'd be pissed too if the President patronized me for telling the truth.

Obama smiles and preaches the togetherness whenever he can, but when the national audience isn't paying attention he is more Machiavellian than the rest of them! He has mastered Chicago-style politics and is brilliant using it.

I honestly don't know how anyone could pay attention for six months and still think Obama was a good choice. I get that Bush sucked--he really did, and I get that Obama was an astoundingly good speaker who ran maybe the best campaign of our generation. But face facts, he is an amateur when it comes to economics and it has shown mightily.

The federal government is supposed to take care of the borders; unforunately, the federal government not only ignores the border laws, but even goes after states like Arizona who try to uphold the laws in their states and goes after illegal aliens. It is not only Obama who has done this, but Bush also ignored border laws.

My fellow Irish fan,

Yes, there are some things in the Middle East that make me scratch my head and strike me as backwards thinking, but that does not apply to the entire Middle East. They are people just like you and me, and painting a broad brush over them is bluntly unfair.

The world is much bigger than the immediate area in which you live. Your views are not universal. People simply think differently in other parts of the world. There's nothing wrong with that.

And.. how dangerous is throwing a shoe really?

I don't like Obama but I don't agree with this. (I was also outraged at the shoe throwing.) Agree or disagree, there are certain respects you show to the President of the United States of America, no matter who you are. I wouldn't expect a random middle-eastern citizen to understand this. I do however, expect a governor and United States citizen to understand this, and respect the office.

Wow. I really don't know what to say. I'm not trying to get into a back and forth about this, but you should really reconsider your views and statement. I'd say it's highly inappropriate and misguided.

He straight up disrepected her, and you get on her case because of her reaction?

Barack is a pompous arrogant toolbag. Go Brewer for standing up for her state.

Obama is an american. Cheese and rice, this is getting a little overly ridiculous. Always calling him an arab or a muslim...can't he just be an american? I'm irish, swedish, and dutch, but hey I'm also white, so that must be why no one tells me limericks or calls me a viking or asks if I wear wooden shoes when I walk into a room.

Oh and a shoe being thrown pales in comparison to congress people hoping for your death, and hoping your wife end up a widow and your children fatherless, or being faxed pics of nooses to the white house. People need to grow up. You don't have to like him or what he stands for, but you should respect his office. ****!
