Auburn's ranked #15, but they have a very good chance of landing a number of elite players by year's end, including one Ronald Darby. Either way, no, I don't feel bad for them. They have a chance at a top 5 class.
Best white fro in quite some time! Reps for posting that gem!
I feel about as bad for Auburn as I do for a guy with a with a 10" member, 6-pack abs and a British accent living in America.
Great quote and it should be used for the whole conference-there will come a time when things equal out as the rest of college football tires of the culture of success that is promoted by the SEC. It will end when the other schools have just had enough of pro football southern style.I have to think that you live by the money bag and that you die by the money bag...
When Auburn hired Gene Chizik, the thought was that he was a top-notch recruiter with a defensive mind -- similar to his former mentor Nick Saban. Chizik brought Auburn to the national championship, and brought in a Heisman Trophy winner in Cam Newton. But now, he appears to be losing his recruiting class: This comes form AL.com.
"Four-star wide receiver Ricardo Louis has changed his commitment from Auburn to Florida State this Friday, leaving the Tigers with 15 commitments, the fewest in the SEC," the website reports.
In 2010, Auburn had 32 commitments. In 2011, the Tigers picked up 26. They're ranked 15th, far behind No. 1 Alabama for in-state supremacy. Not a good offseason to be Gene Chizik.
