I would propose making each individual recruit's thread locked and only updated with confirmed info by a mod and then have one catch-all recruiting discussion thread where we can throw around wild speculation. No matter what happens, people will find a way to still discuss recruiting during this time and if there was no way, it would hurt IE. Also, the recruits and their families probably read their specific recruiting threads and would be less likely to look through thousands of posts in generic recruiting discussions.

IMO if ppl don't want to read info based on different "sources" then don't read the thread. Recruiting is an inexact science ... and if you cant stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

I think I can speak on behalf of all the mods when I say that info from "sources" and others things actually relating to the prospect, his recruitment, and his possible impact is not only ok, it is encouraged. The only issues that arise are the tangents the threads go off on - when they have absolutely nothing to do with the recruit, his position, ND impact, etc. That is where the only issue arises.

Remember that we are trying to keep in mind all of those who can not frequent the board everyday. Those who only log on every week or so and go into a thread hoping to catch up on news on a recruit only to see pages of non-related information must be disappointed and confused, and to be honest they are right. There are other forums for that.

Then perhaps if you are a verified contributor you might get special access to post, with the knowledge that any BS gets that privilege revoked.
