Colter's not an afterthought, he was just behind Persa and they came up with other ways to get him on the field.

Not to be Debbie Downer here, but comparing him to Air Force's starting QB and Northwestern's back up QB doesn't do much for me. Just doesn't get my juices flowing. Hopefully ND can a land a better QB than a military academy QB and a big 10 afterthought's back up QB.

I'm referring to his capabilities on the field. It's possible we see him come in and play some QB, WR, RB, and PR. Maybe even a little D.

Maybe, maybe not. But I was referring to Northwestern. Northwestern is an afterthought of a football program.

Will decide this week if Notre Dame or Arizona is his final visit.

get the feeling we're a little to late to show interest in him as a qb, he would be killer in richrod's offense, praying we get that final OV.

I heard that he was trying to get a hold of BK about a possible visit but couldn't because of the game. I would think we would get a visit unless we have no intention on using him as a qb.

I predict if we get an OV, we get Fuller.

I agree with this. The hardest part will be getting the OV. I think Rich Rod will be pushing harder than us and telling him that he can be just like Pat Wite and Denard. That initial interview with Devin made it seem like he really wanted to visit ND though.

“Coach Diaco got in contact with me and he said I could play quarterback,” said Fuller. “It was exciting for me because they said I could play defensive back and I wasn’t liking that. He said I could play quarterback and it’s a great school, so I have interest in them.”

Come on Fuller. It be be amazing if we secured this kids LOI.

2 explosive play makers in the stable along with Hendrix would be awesome...

doesn't sound too promising to me. looks like we're telling him he can play qb to get him to visit/sign.

thanks for the link

I disagree.

I think it means we Acknowlege the fact the kid is an athlete...

the fact he was an athlete was surely acknowledged from the get go, thus the offer. however, he was just told recently he can play QB? idk doesn't float for me personally.

Wasn't this because Molner didn't want him as a QB. But, now that he is gone Kelly wants to give him a shot at QB?

Have to agree with rtrn2glory. If we were really interested in him as a QB why would we have our Dcoord call him? I understand Diaco may be his recruiter but if the kid really wanted sold on being QB I think Kelly or Martin should/would have called.

sherm, you're right i believe, but still seems like we want him to play DB/WR. probably would get a shot at QB coming in, but would move to receiver, especially with golson having 4 years of eligibility

Maybe we're just telling the kid what he wants to hear, but it seems like a few offensive recruits have opened up since Molnar left (Westerkamp, too). Obviously there's a lot in flux right now on our offensive strategy. I'd think if we're serious he'll get a visit from Martin and/or Kelly, posthaste.

I thought I remember a story a week or two ago saying he'd be happy with "a shot" at playing QB. As in, be a backup QB for a year and if it doesn't pan out, go play something (as opposed to somewhere) else. Seems a reasonable scenario for him in South Bend.

I am just glad to hear that we will be more of a true zone read team next year with an athletic QB. Watching the bowl games and seeing how other teams win off of that makes me giddy about the possibilities. Unlike some of those teams, ND has a good defense too.

Pretty sure it was 247 army practice forum where i read he was playing wr, but wasnt running good routes and such. This kid if not QB belongs at safety, his few vids show more aggresiveness and WANT TO in tackling then just about any db film i have watched.

He is bigger, taller, and faster then Golson arm strength seems about the same. IMO

Playing WR for the first time ever. Pretty much learning on the job and having fun while doing it.
