A pylon? Kelly is the OC.

Kelly may have run the offense, but Molnar was still an OC. For us to pretend he wasn't important is foolish. Kelly wasn't keeping him around for his rugged good looks and boyish charm.

Actually, this interests me very much, and I hardly see it as an irrelevancy. The reason is: this is our first chance to see how well embedded in the national coaching fraternity Coach is. How well can he reach out into that [to me] very confusing mixture and pluck out a plum? We know that Coach can really recruit players. We are about to see how well he can recruit coaches. [and sadly, it probably won't be the last such task over the next couple of years].

Personally still think Warriner is moved to OC.

New OL coach then?

Aaron Taylor would be my choice. Guy could be an awesome recruiter for us.

Last night may have delayed the inevitable a little longer, but I'd like BK to hire Tom Coughlin as WR coach and move Alford back to RB's.

Good thing is...Warriner was the OC / QB coach under Maggiano in Kansas, so he should step right in and take control. Taylor as O-Line coach and running game coordinator might be a stretch. We need someone with experiance. I do agree Taylor would be an awesome recruiter!

Tom Coughlin? 2008 Super Bowl winning Tom Coughlin, head coach of the New York Football Giants who just beat the Dallas Cowboys last night? To move to a WR coaching position at ND?

This must just be your pipe dream.

Somewhat of a pipe dream. I was watching the game last night and (figured they'd lose down late in the game before they got the dubya) thinking how he's been on the hot seat for a while now and probably doesn't have another head coaching stint left in him. But I think he's a good coach and has something still left in the tank. I could see him not wanting the limelight and headache of a head gig anymore...so I thought why not get him back as the position coach where he cut his teeth? And he obviously has some experience and success in the college game too. I certainly don't think this is a strong possibility (particularly if they win their division), but I like to aim big and think outside the box! :meditate:

Totally understandable and don't get me wrong, I would do backflips if Kelly got Coughlin. The G-Men have been riddled with injuries but you can sense the end of that coaching staff is near. I think Coughlin would be great addition to any staff at any level.
