I think he figures Tommy got hurt on the first play of the game basically so he deserves another shot.

You'll see plenty of Hendrix and if Rees struggles, he won't be on the field very long.

If I were Kelly I wouldnt have told reporters that I was starting Tommy. Coach D on power hour said Kelly would be dumb if he announced who the starter was. Now FSU has a month to plan for Tommy.

Hendrix was clearly better than anything Rees has ever done. I wonder if what this REALLY means is that he expects Golson to take over next year, and doesn't want to deal with a Hendrix/Golson issue....

And yes, I am just trying to stir up sh!t.

You dont "deserve" another shot when somebody else out performs you. Im not the coach so this means nothing but this seriously disappoints me. I just wish I could see Kellys reasoning.

I usually love all that Kelly does...but this move is f*cking stupid.I'll be the first to say it.
Not only would these 15 practices be perfect for Hendrix to gel with the 1st team and give him a surge for next season....it is also going to be impossible going against an athletic team like FSU with Tommy at the reins. He has clearly shown he can't stack up in big games against quality opponents.

DAMNIT KELLY!!!

This could just as easily be an attempt by Kelly to keep Hendrix from getting completely overwhelmed by the moment. Throwing everything on him and giving him his first start in a bowl game against Florida St. is a lot to shoulder. He's going to be a big part of he gameplan I'm sure, but I think letting Tommy start is just a way to soften the potential burden on Andrew.

maybe he is fkn with FSU and wants them to prepare for Tommy only to have Hendrix come out for the first couple series.

I think that this both gives Andrew the best chance to come in without to much build-up of pre-game nerves, and forces FSU to spend too much time on the wrong defensive sets. This might be crazy like a fox; I'll be interested to see how Coach plays it.

For the super-anxiety crowd, we know now that Coach is ready to bring Andrew in big time, so everyone should relax a little and watch.

Kelly has a job he needs to keep secure, there's no reason for stupid conspiracy theories like "he's holding Hendrix back from being great because he wants Golson to have the job next year". If he knows Hendrix can be great right now, he's not going to hold him back.

This is just Coach Kelly not wanting to create an issue. The QB job will be either Golson's or Hendrix's. Please have some perspective over reactors. LOL

Agreed but lets be realistic about this come spring time it will be a rees, golson and hendrix race

I don't know about you guys,but I'm sick and f'ing tired of the damn QB carousel we have going on.
To Coach Kelly: If Rees is your guy,then stick with him. If he is your guy, don't take him out at the half against Stanford...let him get his licks and the experience. Quit screwing with your QB's minds and the fans...

I dont understand how any of our guys are supposed to have ANY confidence playing under Kelly right now. You can play almost perfect football,and not be shown any kind of recognition for it.Happened to Crist(he didn't play great,but he should've never been pulled 1st game) and now it's happening to Hendrix...I don't know how you don't start him this game after what he showed against Stanford...
