excellent anylisis Mr. Hutton. I think Kelly's ego will prevent him from switching away from Reese, however , and we will all suffer through more of Tommy's terrible show. I can't understand how the media can overlook Kelly's arrogance. You guys called WEIS arrogant? Take a look at Kelly. THAT IS arrogance.


This is about as close to the truth being nice as i have seen anyone write so far.
Being honest kelly is not gonna fix Notre Dames problems.
Bring back Coach Holtz please .....

Honestly whoever said this should do society a favor and injest a bottle of painkillers; or at the very least never act like they know anything about the situation Notre Dame has at quarterback.

Advice to all of you: if you're going to tear into a player (who 1) is what 19 or 20 years old? and 2) has never done anything ungentlemanly in his time at Notre Dame)....AT LEAST LEARN HOW TO SPELL HIS F*CKING NAME.

As for Kelly, yeah...he's arrogant. Sweet. I could care less. He's a clue about the real world: most successful people are confident in what they do. Stop being offended when someone who has succeeded EVERYWHERE doesn't rush to judgment when 10,000 certifiable idiots give him advice.

Here's the deal, anyone who bashes they way these young men play have never been in a position liek this. Some play the game, some coach the game, and some critic the game without ever suiting up.

Guess which one this person is.

The better question is........... who gives a f*ck what others think of Kelly? As long as he runs a clean program and fields a competitive team..... This isn't a Coach Congeniality pageant.

I'm going to go ahead and give the OP the benefit of the doubt. Was it lazy pulling a quote from another message board (or live chat or something) and putting it here with no context? Of course it was. Did the post demonstrate a good understanding of Notre Dame football or the English language? Absolutely not. Does the subject matter kick a dead horse? Right in the nuts.

That all being said, I do agree with the Kelly's attitude vs Weis's attitude bit. Thing is, people loved Weis's attitude in years 1 and 2. It wasn't until that trainwreck of a season in 2007 that "confidence" got changed with "cocky". Basically, as long as a coach wins, fans will like his attitude, no matter what it is. If Kelly's teams don't show noticeable improvement, expect a similar attack on his character as we saw on Weis's. And then, kmoose, we will all give a fu(K, because old grumpy alums with a lot of money have way more sway over ND than most of us would like to admit.

Weis's attitude wasn't the reason he failed. It was his neglect of defense and inability to develop talent.
