Updates from BGI:
On McDaniel and Atkinson III in backfield:
Have to play their roles. They have a pretty, solid knowledge base of the offense, and they have to help the team win.
Wood has to do it all. He's not a Jonas Gray, but he's a winner. Had to use him to stick his nose in there against BC, and he was able to do it. He has had a strong year.
On Theo Riddick:
Wanted to make sure there were opportunities for him to touch the ball by shifting him.
The Wildcat offense has less of a significant role now because defenses have caught up to it, so haven't used it much anymore. Doesn't like a single-wing formation where the QB can't throw it.
Finding other ways to use the personnel.
On Michael Floyd:
He's better as a WR in the complete game of blocking and being a route runner. It stands out more this year because NFL scouts see that complete game.
He's in the first round consideration, but that's always subject to change.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..."
He practices hard and all those things stand out.
He won't be a game-day captain. He's on probation and won't elect a player that's on probation for that role.
On playing Stanford:
Don't see it as an opportunity to be a spoiler. It's a relevant game on national television - that gets 18-21 year olds attentions more than trying to be a spoiler.
This week comes down to having a good week of practice. A couple local guys may shoot home, but all the players are looking to work.
