A certain favorite love of ours named Coach Holtz had the exact same record after 21 games, and look at how he turned out...

I'm not a fossil, but I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that Hotlz didn't have NEAR the talent this team does in his first 2 years. Also, college football has changed big time. Coaches are making an immediate difference compared to 20 years ago. See, Chip Kelly in 2nd year at Oregon and a bunch of other 2nd year guys.

Nope, Kelly has proven that he is a good coach (see previous stops) but the jury is out on wether he can change the culture at Notre Dame (though I think he is doing a good job at it) and get us to win.

Was typing something to this effect and saw that it was already posted. Agree. In order to say he isn't proven you need to disregard every single job he had before this one...

Jonas Gray and Robert Blanton are my two favorite players. Didn't see that coming pre-season.

flipping back and forth from Ala and LSU reminds me of how far this team needs to go. I will always believe but it is one heck of an uphill struggle.

You realize that Oregon was pretty damn good before Chip Kelly tookover?

There is some talent. But, don't you see how much better the talent is playing now than they were 3 years ago?

We finally have an offensive line that dominates inferior talent like they're supposed to. We have a very very young, but sometimes dominant defensive line.

We also have a young sophomore QB who is wildly inconsistent, but has better numbers than Jimmy Clausen at the same point in his career.

We're getting better.

Coaches made immediate differences back then too, wise guy. And considering he had a Heisman winner in his second season, it was probably a pretty talented too.
