Nope. Not even a little bit. I'm all about the jumbotron and the field turf, but the understated class of the field and the uniforms is sacrosanct in my mind. Don't put a bunch of crap in the end zone or at midfield, and no pink, black, gold or glow in the dark uniforms.

Really exciting news regarding the video board and the field turf. Any ideas where the board will go?

God, I hope so. ND stadium definitely needs a JumboTron to help spice things up a little! Hopefully, they'll get one soon and it pizzes off a bunch of the "old farts" that want to just sit on their fanny the whole game constantly saying "sit down". Maybe they will start staying home. Wouldn't it be great to see the whole stadium reacting similarly to the atmosphere they have in the ND student section?! Now that's excitement at a football game!

Needs to be a three-leaf shamrock, not four.

The four-leaf clover is often confused with the shamrock. While the four-leaf clover is an Irish symbol of good luck, the three-leafed shamrock is mainly an Irish Christian symbol of the Holy Trinity and has a different significance.

This doesn't look very good anyway.

Then we could get a blow up helmet sponsored by Pepsi to go over the tunnel and have smoke come out when the players run onto the plastic grass. They will led out by the "Met Life Harley" that fireworks will be shooting out of.... and there will be punch and pie

Also I feel you should practice on turf like you play on. So field turf would be perfect because ND practice fields are turf. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

You aren't wrong, it is your opinion.

I'm forward thinking in a lot of ways, but for some reason I like football on natural grass. To me it is part of the tradition of Notre Dame Stadium and I don't want to see it replaced. So to answer your question I don't have a rationale besides tradition. Would you be opposed to knocking down Notre Dame Stadium and building a dome? After all, spread offenses work better in climate control.

FYI a guy on ISD is saying that ND has put an RFP for field turf. Anyone in contracting knows this doesn't mean in the slightest that they will follow through and do it, but according to this guy it's at least on the street. I cannot vouch for the poster's credibility, but just thought I would share.
