Not sure why this wouldn't be put in the Stanford gameday thread but while it's here, I'll have to disagree. We just got owned at home, on the biggest stage of our year, by a team that is about to get owned this weekend by the team your predicting us to go on the road and beat. Doesn't add up in my book.

Oh yea, and Andrew Luck is pretty good. He also sits behind one of the best offensive lines in the country.

I don't know man...I hope you're right. On the one hand, offensively, their most like MSU of all our opponents. On the other, we needed more than a few Cousins incompletes with a pick and fumble to win, which I don't expect to get against Stanford.

ND really needs to win this in order for the season to have some weight. Even if we run the table on everyone but lose to Stanford, we are 8-4, but with only 1 win really worth bragging about, MSU. I know every win counts, but beating Air Force and Pitt doesn't mean all that much when you can't beat UM or USC.

He doesn't need to play. Ever seen their running game? Our defense is losing people left and right. If we can survive the Navy running game, up in the air at this point, I still don't see us shutting down Stanfords run and stopping Luck. This is going to be the worst defeat of the Kelly era.

Some may say their running game is as good as it is because of Andrew Luck. The threat of pass allows the running game to be so good.

But seriously, I can see this happening. It would be classic Notre Dame for the team as a whole to play well for a whole game for once and beat Stanford. This would give us boundless hope for next season, we would be overhyped as ever, we'd hear about how many ND coaches have won it all in their 3rd year, and then the team will let us down...again.

I remember some guy on another ND board claiming that USC would be beaten by us last year. He was right. This year he claimed ND was going to destroy USC. Well...that board is done and gone now. Hey, you can get lucky sometimes I guess.

Stanford is just too powerful right now. They were too good last year, and they haven't lost a step. Heck, they may be better than last year. Have we improved? Maybe a little in some areas, maybe a step back in others. I don't think we have the linemen to compete this year.
