Steven Elmer???
I disagree with this. Elmer visited Michigan and then visited Notre Dame the following week and announced during his visit.

Payton has already been to Michigan and isn't going to visit again, but is visiting ND and announcing after that trip.

So IMO they are different situations.

PS Thanks for the info GB

i am not that worried about it. Treggs can come if he wants as the slot guy but they are putting all there chips in for Agholor.

Agree but Payton is no slouch
No, he's not. He's very good but IMO unless there is a decommit from 1 of 3 current WR commits I don't see room for him or any other non slot WR unless your name is Nelson Agholor, Dorial Green-Beckham or Stefon Diggs as those 3 are in a class of there own.

But then again who knows? Maybe the staff knows there is going to be a WR transfer and could use another WR but my best guess is that there is no room for him but I think they will get after Chris Brown to firm up his commitment because if he doesn't and Payton wants to commit they are going to give him his spot.

Payton Trip

Payton has revealed all along that he wanted to check out ND. He's got family down here and it could be a good fit for him.

Greg Biggins of ESPN basically saying he could make his decision as soon as next week between Michigan, Cal, and ND.

For his size he is really quite quick, that's what I've always liked about him. I think he could play slot or perimeter. What say you all?

Edit: Where did his video go? It's somewhere in the pages, but not on the first post. Can we fix that please? (If it's not a hassle.)

Per 247 loved his visit, might be delaying his announcement a bit this week.

A lot of the current commits thought that after Saturday he would be the most likely to pop.

Definitely thought he was UM bound. I like when guys take some time and sleep on things before pulling the trigger. You gotta give it time and see where your hunger leads you.

Would be great to "steal" him from USC and UM.

I definently would love to get him. He is a very talented receiver and I honestly don't see Treggs coming.

With Chris Brown solid I am OK with not getting treggs. Treggs seems more in the TJ Jones mold, great route runner and hands and a little shifty but not a real burner. Chris Brown has speed to burn and could become a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. Adding Agholor or Payton would finalize and awesome WR haul this year along with Ferg and Greenberry.

mgobloggers:

I think watching Rees and Crist (I know Crist is leaving) DERP around for 4 quarters doesn't engender much faith in Payton about the future of ND football. My guess is that he was impressed because, yes, it is a pretty campus with a nice atmosphere and the ND name still has some cache. But when you look at UM compared to ND, I can't imagine there is much competition.

I'm surprised any parent wants their child to commit to ND, so Kelly can berate them on national television. Also surprised that NBC is allowed to have the camera on Kelly after a bad play by ND. You'd think they would tell the camera crew to not show Kelly when he's in beet red mode.

Enough said. How could any parent want their child playing for that self-riteous maniac. Come to a place where you are treated like an individual and become part of a family the day you step on campus. Hoke's Bo-like tough love builds men. Kelly's raging antics proves that he views players as cogs for his machine, another resource to help bolster his career prospects. This is a no brainer Mr. Payton.

michigan talking about our QB play???? lmao...they have a running back for a qb..think a freshman shane morris is going take over...nope...devin gardner...tad better thrower than DR but doesn't have the elusiveness of DR.. a poor poor game on our part...but as a receiver it wouldn't even be question of who is going to get me the ball more

PA, did you see Tommy play. If he was doing this at Michigan wouldn't a lot of us clown on them? A statue of a QB that is a Turnover Machine. Wouldn't we make fun of that? Most likely. The truth hurts, and we have Tommy.
