Hello everyone. I'm not sure where to post this exactly, but hopefully, you will find it a worthy discussion as we anticipate the kickoff to one of our favorite classic rivalry games of the season.
With great consistency, Irish Envy has been an excellent source on the internet for finding relevant and important information regarding Notre Dame football. Many of the posters are insightful, enthusiastic, and welcoming. It's the reason why I post on occasion and tend to look here for timely information on recruiting.
With that said, it's pretty clear that many of us (fans, students, faculty, alumni, etc.) are connecting from different places throughout the United States (the world, for that matter). It's a quality that makes the University of Notre Dame a unique place to be part of and to support. Nevertheless, it would be incredible if we could connect our fanbase even more than it already is.
While most of us already have our own Gameday groups, many of us ND fans are like wandering nomads, roaming throughout the city in search of a good place to watch the game, and more importantly, a good group of fans who share the same loyalty.
Rather than watch solo or plead with a disinterested bar tender to flip to the ND ESPN game, it would be great to find better ways of linking up with groups and possibly supporting local businesses. For example, as funny as this sounds, I tend to look for the Irish Pubs in cities that I travel to and/or move to, because at least the image is there and the short-sell easier in a territory that doesn't really support the ND market.
My main question: Has Irish Envy discussed the possible development of a Game-Watch section/page devoted entirely to organizing groups and highlighting businesses that support ND football? This information is scattered throughout the internet and is often spread word of mouth, but to organize State pages with this information could make it much easier to access and share.
Anyway, these are my basic thoughts. Hopefully, you will want to discuss. Thanks for reading!
