You can't act like you would be responding this way if the Lions had won. lol And I'm not going to argue about who was in the wrong because I still never saw anything, but I'm just saying calm down because now you're insulting a guy you don't even know on the internet. Why waste the time, eh?

Again... not seeing where I was anything less than calm...

And as far as me responding like this if the lions had won, this whole thing would have been avoided. I can assure you that Schwartz would not have acted in the way Harbaugh acted.

Please just look up the press conference responses and tell me Harbaugh isn't arrogant.

I find it odd that none of the NFL talking heads are bringing up the fact that this kind of stuff is in Jim Harbaugh's nature. When he ran the score up on USC so bad that Pete Carrol asked "Whats your deal?" at the handshake...or how he was 5 yards on to the field during live action, to the dismay of the crowd at the ND game last year...also going for 2 late in the game after it was already won. He's just rough like that. It doesn't take much analysis. He's a douche.

I love how Michigan fans act like Hoke wasn't their 3rd or 4th choice. Harbaugh was definitely 1, Les was next, then I think I remember hearing another name... Either way, Hoke was far from their first choice. It is so obnoxious that it is almost comical how ignorant those fans are.

You mean similar to how most ND fans wanted Bob Stoops or Urban Meyer before Brian Kelly? Our hiring of Kelly, a coach on the rise, is not too different from their hiring of Hoke. Kelly has proven a bit more having stayed at a few programs for a decent amount of time, but there's no denying that Hoke hasn't improved teams at each stop. He won at Ball State. No one wins at Ball State, even though they play in the MAC.

I can't tell whether I love or hate Harbaugh. I loved it when he would punk Pete Carroll this way. Because I felt like Pete Carroll had it coming. And he's a great, enthusiastic coach.

But man... that was a total **** move. Act like you've been there (even though you haven't). I hope he actually apologizes, for his sake.

I truly am not. I am a fan of the lions, and of course wish they would have won, but I am no where near the fan of Detroit that I am for ND. I think I just have a serious hatred for Harbaugh. I was at the Stanford game last year when he, Luck, and the rest of the cardinal creamed us. It still hurts as I only get to one game a year and happened to see that.

In the end, congratulations to San Fran, the lions are back down to earth now. Hopefully they will put the work in that led them to their undefeated start.

You've just described my football fandom in one sentence.

I'm siding with Harbaugh here.

I don't remember, but I don't think we publicly flew any of those guys to South Bend and offered them the job which UofM did with Harbaugh.

Oh brother! You haters need to watch the replay. Nothing all that bad went down until Schwartz got his panties in a bunch and tried to chase down Harbaugh like a little kid yelling "Hey you meanie, take that back!"

This is contact football, not pillow fights.

It's for real...F all the cry baby lions fans in this forum. Who cares what the coaches did and said. The Lions got their *** beat!

wow. yeah, that was quite the blowout 25-19. I assume you act the same way after Irish wins, and I can safely assume that you are part of the group that gives ND fans a bad name.

It's times like these when we're not unified in hate of an opposing team that you realize how douchey ND fans are.

I've never heard fans cry as much as lions fans. They need to get back to losing, to get rid of those bloated heads...

Watch the replay again when it becomes available...I was watching live and hit the rewind button several times to see what the hel1 happened. Harbaugh did go in to wild yes, you're telling me he couldn't have done that fist pump and whatever the heck it was on the sideline when the clock expired, he had to wait until he was 2 feet away from the opposing teams coach? OK well, whatever...let's give him a pass there. I think the real issue was after he went in hard and smacked Schwartz, Schwartz then took offense and just off handily said something like 'really?" Then as Harbaugh is walking away he cowardly said something (i'm guessing that is where the bomb was dropped that he apologized for) that really got Schwartz fired up. I'm a coach an would have handled the situation exactly the same, def. would have went back and questioned the coach. What is he supposed to be the bigger man and walk away after an arrogant prick who has a history of doing this stuff shows him up...hell no, he handled it perfectly fine. No I'm not a Lions fan, and could care less that Harbaugh went to Michigan...just makes it all the much better to take a jab at the scUM during the process.

Also, for all those supporting Harbaugh on this...what the hel1 does it matter if he is a good coach or not, has nothing to do with the argument? I'd agree, but the guy is obviously a punk and always has been-lol not to mention the fact that hes a "Michigan Man." Can't believe he has so many Irish supporters here.

You realize nobody on this thread has given excuses or even really talked about the Lions losing, right? Everyone was defending/attacking the coach's actions. Calm down, the 49ers won a close game against a good team (regardless of your take on the Lions). The 6th game of a season isn't make or break. But honestly, you'll wake up tomorrow and read these comments again and realize just how douchey you sound.

I wouldn't even get into this if I were you. I'm not going to come back to this thread again and neither should you. I don't know why, but apparently there are a lot of Lions haters in the Irish Envy community. I kind of like it: you have to be good to be hated. Let's hope ND reaches that point soon.

He yelled an obscenity after shaking hands, which is what pissed Schwartz off. He is a douche, plain and simple. I think we all already knew this.

I couldn't read what he said on my phone but I do know he was past him facing one of his players when he shouted. If you can't stand someone being excited about beating you then get a pacifier stay in the locker room and don't be the team to beat. Jim h. Didn't do anything most coaches haven't done after a massive win.

Take the team names out of it, coaches names etc...and I'd still be on Schwartz's side, you don't let someone who has a history show you up, especially if he makes a tounge in cheek comment as he's walking away, you call the pansy as$ out.

lol bull$hit, how often do you see a scene like that after a game. Usually I see 2 coaches (no matter how heated mad, excited they won) gather themselves for 2 seconds and shake hands. That is how it is supposed to be done.

Harbaugh's teams play good, tough football. He coaches with emotion and passion that rubs off on his team. Being a Bears fan and dealing with Lovie for years, I'd love to have a coach like that. Schwartz has that emotion too, which is why both teams are doing well and also probably why that altercation happened. Two good teams clashed in an intense game decided at the end. It's football.

If you can't take a loss stay off the field. He beat the team to beat and was excited. I would pick a coach with some excitement before someone who didn't care either way. I don't think he rubbed it in his face he was just a sore looser. If you don't ever want to offend someone we can get rid of downs, forget the score, and tell everyone they win.

You only mentioned what the fans wanted, not the schools.

I meant that Hoke wasn't the AD's first choice. The UofM fans have acted like Hoke was number one all along. Sorry for the confusion

For the record, I wanted Kelly from the start. Perfect fit.

The way I took it after watching it a few times now on tv and online. Schwartz was visibly disappointed but shook Harbaugh's hand like he normally would. Then after the handshake though Harbaugh sort of gave Schwartz an overly aggressive shove in the back. Almost like saying "get out of my face".

If that was me I would have got pretty upset too, I don't know if I would run the other coach down. But they would definitely hear about it in someway.

I do get Harbaugh was excited and is a very good coach. But it he could celebrate, walk up to Schwartz say Good Game, then walk away and cheer again. The handshake takes 2 seconds no need to continue to celebrate while shaking his hand.

lol ok so Harbaugh gets a pass for being intense and excited...while obviously Schwartz is intense and excited in a negative way, and he gets labeled as the sore loser who was in the wrong for showing his emotion according to you guys. Technically using your logic nobody is in the wrong then. Using coaching ethics Harbaugh is wrong...he admitted it for christ sake.

Are you serious? Schwartz did nothing to show poor sportsmanship until after Harbaugh made his remarks. Youre way off base here.

My take is that both could have behaved better (Harbaugh calming down before the handshake, and Schwartz not reacting like a crazy man) but that everyone out there is blowing this way out of proportion (media, us, etc).

I just watched the video.. That is something I'd expect to see from Harbaugh.. not bc he's a michigan man or whatever but because that is who he his. He is a different type of coach.

He doesn't care about other peoples respect, right or wrong. He proves it by coming in jogging, giving a high school slap of the hand and smacking the guys back.. Then hollering as he runs off.. He knows exactly what he's doing. Schwartz just let him get to him..
