KLM is a stud and a leader. He gets begged to come back
Agreed. I can't see him not being a huge asset in next years rotation.

Braxton Cave doesn't have anymore eligibility. He played as a true freshman on special teams. He was injured part way through the season and was out for the remainder. So unless the NCAA is overlooking his short freshman campaign, Cave has used up his eligibility.

Saw action in the San Diego State game ... served as the Irish short snapper ... logged 2:03 of playing time and five special- teams appearances before suffering a season-ending injury.
If true, this is the worst news I've heard in a long time. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Goodman will be back. Guys bash him for his return skills which obviously are not great but until the return coverage is improved i prefer having sure hands back there.
Also he is #3's back-up so you never see him but Kelly said that he was the 4th best reciever at the start of the season. Kelly said he needs 7 WR's to run efectively and he currently has only 5 he can rely on.
There are plenty of other guys with good hands currently on the roster.
Thus far, Goodman has 1 rushing attempt for 2 yards, 1 reception for 8 yards, and 8 punt returns for less 1 net yard. Oh, and a fumble as well.
GAIII will move back to WR for 2012. Between Daniels, Atkinson, Greenberry, etc., there's way too much athleticism coming up behind Goodman to justify his getting a 5Y.
GA3 MIGHT move back to WR next year. Like i said before Greg Reid will struggle returning punts when 4/5 times there are 3 guys in his face. Fix the return coverage, then think about putting a playmaker back there. As for the "plety of other guys" where are they?

Toma, for one. Harrison Smith as well, but he'll be gone next year.
I just can't see Kelly giving Goodman a 5Y simply to fair catch punts.
Whatever, just a quick thought. At some point he has to get someone back there that can gain something though.. We can't fair catch it or let it roll for a 60 yarder every time.
I agree. First and foremost the coverage needs to get better.
Then why aren't they doing it?
Plus you're not Giving Goodman a 5th year to fair catch. He will get much more real PT with Floyd gone. It's easy to knock a guy when he is sitting behind one of the best in the country
How many scholarships will be available for fifth years? Five? Six?
Exactly. Everyone just spouts Goodman sucks but fix the coverage first. That way there is room to run. THEN think about putting a playmaker back there. Until then I prefer a guy who can catch the ball.
The staff is targeting 22 this year meaning 6 could be asked back for 5th years. Of course that is theoretical.
True and Nebraska isnt phyical either-they got run over. They may get their @##$# handed to them more than once this year. But not by Ohio State. There are always exceptions to the norm. And honestly Wisconsin could play without a quarterback and still be undefeated, they have had an absolutely pathetic schedule.
