Tyler Eifert. What a game he had today. When Rees needed someone to go to in that last drive, Eifert was there. Brian Kelly needs to get him more involved in this offense. He is just as good as Kyle Rudolph and will only get better. Congrats to Tyler Eifert.

I would say that Darius Flemming was the defensive player of the game.

I'd say Bob Diaco. Without the defense holding strong for so long (and in bad field position too), Tommy's drive would have meant nothing.

+1 that 3-15 sack was so clutch and how bout Carlo's pass defense on the 4-25?

Great d by Carlo. I find it hard to believe that Fox is supposed to be better at coverage. He was pretty awful today.

I agree. But could just as easily make a case for Flemming, Shembo, or Teo.

Shembo saved 7 points when he caught Graham from behind on that play. You dont see a big LB like that catch a RB from behind too often.

I somewhat agree with all of you because they were all impressive but Tyler Eifert bailed out Tommy a lot on that last drive

I also think Jonas Gray deserves a mention too. Lord knows how ugly things could've gotten without his 80 yard TD run.

It's not done, but I'd let BK keep it. He deserves credit for staying with Rees and not panicking. That 8 for 8 passing saved Dame. Don't think Crist would've gotten it done.

No the D saved the Irish. A better team would have been up by at least 14 with that performance.

I for one don't want to see Dan Fox on the field in any shape, form or fashion. It's not like he excels at one thing and sucks at the other (like Shembo can pass rush but can't contain).. Fox brings nothing to the table.

Exactly. I'd rather have a great pass-rusher who is mediocre at coverage than someone who's mediocre (or worse) at both

Eifert was terrible for the first three quarters. He somewhat redeemed himself on the last (also second, ugh) TD drive. But game ball? No way.

Definitely belongs to someone on defense.

Our defense won the game for us. Tyler made a big difference as well. Man, that was a terrible game!

Somewhat redeemed himself? You sh***in me? Yeah he only caught the winning td and two point conversion. How many 3rd down conversions did he catch? He was our only receiving threat the second half. I would say he more than somewhat redeemed himself.

Eifert seemed to be the only consistent receiver we had all game. I only heard Floyd's name twice and everyone else didn't really do anything. Darius Flemming was a close second for the game ball IMO

I would say noone but the defense as a whole should get it. If not for them we would have lost.

Eifert missed a few blocks and wasn't much of a factor until late in the game. I don't think he deserves the game ball; who knows what would have happened if he blocked better and helped keep the Pitt D off Reis?

Before BK came to ND, when was the last time we were able to say that? Our defense has reformed COMPLETELY under Bob Diaco!

I thought Eifert was solid all game.

Watch a replay if you get a chance. He was a liability over the first three quarters. He got beat on several crucial blocks (as in, he lost his block, and that defender proceeded to blow up Cierre short of the sticks on 3rd down) and he failed to get his head around in time to catch a hot route on 3rd down. I'd say he was primarily responsible for killing 2-3 drives himself.

Really? I need to watch the game again- when I watch it real time I am pretty fired up.
