With the talk of Gehrig Deiter I wanted to see if anyone else put up unbelievable numbers with no offers. As much of a critic I have been of Deiter, deep inside I would love for a local kid to go to ND and him to prove everyone wrong. Then I came across this kid.

LaJordan Wilkerson out of San Antonio, TX. He has rushed for 1174yards and 26 TDs in two games. From what I have seen, he has no offers and the only site he is listed on is ESPN and is a grade of 40, with no other information.

Disclaimer: I would still enjoy Deiter if he received an offer, but numbers do not say everything.

why in the world would he still be in the game long enough to have 26 TD's in 2 games...alone he's accounted for an average of 78 ppg not including extra points. definitely must play in a weak region of texas and those stats are almost embarrasing.

EDit: guess i didin't check the scores...none the less that is ridiculously stupid. is it even 11 on 11?

Damn I feel dumb but also didn't know they would add him with regular teams but he plays in a 6 man team division. Makes sense.

Well I decided to check out the 2nd leading rusher in the Nation, Bryar Harper. He averages 300 yards a game in three games. He has just over 900 yards. 13 TD's. No offers, not even in any of the recruiting service databases, that I found.

Yeah, I don't know if I'd want a player that scored 26 TDs on a defense like that, 6 man or 11 man. I would rather have a player in a tough division that has produced against tough defenses.

I've never heard of 6 man though.

It's been around for more than 75 years. Started during the Depression in small towns in the West. Played in about half a dozen states but I believe Texas is where it's played most. I got introduced to it about 25 years ago in Texas. I'm surprised that kid's from San Antonio as this is a small town sport. Small budgets and small populations are the primary reasons. The growth of Christian schools since the Civil Rights era may have brought 6 man football to the urban areas. Some of them are big but many church affliated schools have small enrollments and probably have tight budgets.

6 man is fast paced, the field is shorter, and everybody is eligible. Kind of ironic that people put it down but anxiously follow twitter reports for 7 on 7 camps.

We wouldn't be praising someone for RUSHING stats in a seven on seven environment. It is for passing and is played in traditional sets. Hell, I could rack up yards rushing in seven on seven and I'm 20 years past my football prime.
