It is a good write-up, but I was a little disappointed.

I hate to be a stickler, but I was actually expecting to see a depth chart.

Very well done!

Side note: didn't BK mention in the post practice interview that he'd announce the starter on Tuesday?

Yes. That was mentioned in the last paragraph of this article.

Just to clarify, it was the title of the thread that threw me off. The actual article was nice and the title was not misleading... Nice work, Dude.

Very good insight. What packages do you think the stud frosh will be working into on the d-line? Will they be more of a rush package or extra legs when the starters are cramping up?

They want to keep the defense fresh this year. They want less reps for EJ and Kap, so look for the freshmen to get into the game during long drives and 3rd down rush situations.

Their rotation will increase as the season progresses.

Actually, I think it will be just the opposite. Kelly stated, on media day, that Ethan Johnson had to play on 1st and 2nd down, too often, last year. Of course, that was relative to his comment that Johnson was his best pass rusher, last year. Maybe the new guys will step into that role this year. But I would look to see the freshmen in on more 1st and 2nd downs, at least early in the year.

Two-gap responsibility as a 3-4 DE isn't easy, so I don't expect to see Tuitt and Lynch getting asked to do that much; at least not early in the season. One-gap responsibility is much easier, so I have to agree with Triple T here; EJ and KLM on open downs, with Tuitt and Lynch giving them a blow on 3rd and long.

Great article, looked at your game previews, it says Andrew Luck passed for 330 yards, might want to change that hahaha

Not a problem man, I knew what you meant thanks for the kind words.

As far as what roles Lynch and Tuitt will play, I think that will get defined after they get out on the field and show what they can do. I know this, this is the most fired up I've been about an Irish d-line...ever.
