So...anyone out there going to watch any of the LLWS?
I'm from Lock Haven, PA...just a half an hour away from Williamsport...our local all star team (Keystone) won the Mid Atlantic regional and the support for them around here is unbelievable! The crowd for the game set an all time LLWS attendance record tonight...these kids have really made the area proud. There are more people at their game against the Great Lakes region champion Kentucky tonight than live in Clinton County!

I'm not a big baseball fan...but I love going down for the LLWS...and I love the event itself because it means football is RIGHT around the corner...

Send some prayers for the Keystone boys up will ya?

I'm watching. 4th inning lead off hit that was called foul was a horrible call. Must be some big ten officials.

I got funny looks from the woman for laughing out loud when I read that.

I Like the LLWS, However, I don't need need to see some random game from South Carolina on ESPN. Military Irish may be the only IE member who watches LL softball world series (cheap **** cause he like Women's basketball).

I like the Williamsport games, but typically only watch the semifinals and final.

Can you bet on LLWS? Prop bets based on island/continent perhaps?

I was thinking the same thing...you need counseling...
kidding

I only am watching it on television because of the local boys.
otherwise I just catch a game or two in person for a nice night out.

I didn't go in person because I don't care to be around 41,000 screaming localites. I would rather save the crowds for a football game.

It's really a shame about the LLWS because I ream really glad that the kids get to play in something with relative importance, but I hate everything that ESPN has done with this. First of all while the LLWS is pretty competitive there are far better leagues at these age groups that most kids are playing on. When I was this age some of the teams I played on and against were far better than the teams they show out there. I'm not trying to be an ***, and I truly am glad to see young kids play baseball and enjoy something so much it amazes me to see how poorly ESPN handles this. It makes me sick and for that reason I will not watch the LLWS. Again let me emphasize in no way am i "hating" on the kids, I just get outraged when I see ESPN do this. That is all.

I don't know of any other leagues for this age group in my area. It's little league or nothing here. Being one of the original towns to have a team in the first year of Little League play may have something to do with it. I hate ESPN period...sadly there aren't any real competitors out there that have such a wide range of coverage.

I'm headed to the the Little League World Series this weekend with the kids. We've gone every year for the past three or four and it is truly an amazing event.

Anybody see the story of the Ugandan team that made it but then their state department messed up their papers. Heartbreaking. Would have been the first African team to make it to the LLWS.

I can watch it, but only one game a day or if the team has a physical freak. Love seeing kids that age throw in the 70s. Absolutely insane. I thought i was spittin fire when I was throwing about 60 at that age. Man was I wrong haha.

Kentucky (beat my hometown team last night) has a 6 foot tall 13 year old pitcher who was throwing low 70s AFTER 70 pitches...I wasn't paying attention to the speeds when he first started....probably closer to 80.

its amazing man. so many studs have played in the LLWS. Pretty sure Gary Sheffield was on the same team as another MLBer but his name is escaping me right now.

how does ESPN handle this poorly? you didn't really make much of an argument here, other than that there are more competitive leagues out there, which i agree about. but i don't see how that's ESPN's fault. Believe me, I hate ESPN as much as anybody out there (it comes with the Clevelander inferiority complex) but I've always thought they did a great job with this tournament. Not looking for an argument here, I just don't see what ESPN does wrong here. It's one of the few things that I like about ESPN

Did anyone see the left fielder from Aruba just now??? Gary Thorn and John Kruk are laughing their asses off at him. They're down 20 runs and this kid is having the time of my life dancing to no music, pointing into the stands and having a ball. This is awesome. Then the inning ended and he was running into the dug out like a goof and his lid fell off. Priceless viewing for a boring saturday afternoon. lmao

I have been watching, the western regional finals are in San Bernardino, about 30 minutes from where I grew up and about 45 minutes from where I currently live so I have gone to that portion since I was a kid... I have watched about three games to this point.

I will probably catch the PA vs. Rhode Island game tonight, but I really don't care for baseball enough to watch a whole lot of it on t.v.

We're avoiding the crowds for now...if the boys win tonight we'll brave the tens of thousands of local inbred rednecks that we live with haha.
They aren't that bad.
