No joke, I have a friend who looks and sounds sort of like Carlo Calabrese. (Btw, any of you who remeber the story, this is the friend that squats 600+ and benches 300+)

Premium article on II discusses the possibility of Manti Te'o as a goal-line back.

That would be interesting.

More contemporary than Hornung and Sciarra but by the paucity of examples still a rarity.

True, but no one was trying to make a point that it is a regular thing. The examples were brought up to refute someone's assertion that it had never happened.

Nuss vs Watt; Watt is still a little tender. Kelly and Molner said Watt, Nuss, and Robinson are going to be a three person rotation at guard.

All the freshmen are ready to contribute/play. The synergy that will create this year will help power the team to a new level.

Nix looks real good.

No one is transferring. A) This year twice as many players will get meaningful playing time; B) Anybody who knows anything about Kelly knows he needs more that three QB's on his roster, and they play. C) This year ND has multiple look offense, so much so that the quick-strike and the grind-it-out, smash mouth look appear to be two different units.

Oh and PS. When you going to learn? When Kelly names people like Floyd, and Golson as being evaluated for punt return, he is getting your attention, and he is making a point through hyperbole, (exaggeration.)

Yes, the older guys all had a dreary colored helmets compared to the new guys.

I can definitely see the difference you are talking about. Could it just be different batches of paint?

Little write up on the blog about our boy tuitt.
Notre Dame’s Stephon Tuitt Makes Shocking Day One Impression.

Great article! More than two, think at least; Rasaba, Councell, and Hardy. A great article would center around keeping track on how all the incoming class pushes the progress of the team forward. Some of these guys may not get as much playing time this year, but they may be instrumental in building a prep squad nearly as good as opponents . .

Practice helmets versus game helmets. And the game helmets look different from different angles, in different light and with pictures taken with different cameras.

So did I. I noticed something that could be potentially funny. Did anyone else hear Elston call Tuitt "Tu Tu"?

Dude, I cannot even imagine! If this is true, do you know what it means? Exactly!

We need an Elston thread, to rival the Diaco thread.

No, what Beau was talking about was in the 1st practice video. I think at around 45 seconds, when the guys are jumping around together, there is definitely a color difference with some of the helmets.

I just posted those pictures because I remember seeing a difference in the way the helmets looked from game to game. I know the environment, the camera taking the picture, etc. can make a difference, I just wanted to find an example.

Exactly, practice helmets are just spray painted. With anything close I am sure. Not even the same helmets as game helmets.

There are also 3 or 4 different styles of helmets available. I'd say its possible the different manufacturers use slightly different shades of gold. Not sure if the ND equipment guys paint the practice helmets at all or not.

Thanks man. You're right we could see freshman all over the defense. I'm about to go crazy after seeing that video yesterday. I'm ready to see this d in action. They need to hit the ground running though.

I am so pumped for the season to start...

Wow.

Defense will be our headliner year round.

When's the last time we could say that? I look forward to be challenged.

So. Flo.: Meet Kelly's Golden Curtain.

I have thought about a new name for the defense, johnny. How about...

Irish Impossible Inches?
