I pity those who don't have access to In N Out burger.

I'm moving to Phoenix next month and I can't wait to have one!

imo its the best tasting fast food burger.

No question. People from the midwest and the east coast (who haven't had In N Out) will occasionally make an argument for Five Guys, which is understandable, but totally wrong.

Five Guys is to normal burger chains as In N Out is to Five Guys.

The fast food distinction is important. There's a burger chain here in Phoenix named Fuddrucker's that makes an incredible 1/2 lb. burger cooked to order (medium rare, please.) Can't really compare that to fast food.

Went to Fuddruckers not too long ago and I am not that fond of the food but the one I went to had one of the coolest drink dispensers. For instance, you click Coke and then another 10 options pops up with all different flavors. It was pretty cool. The food not so much, for me. I can't get too into fast food burgers because of some of the non-chain burgers I have tried. They don't compare.

Wait, I'm from Phoenix. Hit me up for game watch this fall. On a side note, I will be eating In N Out Burger tomorrow! It's the first place I go to eat when I come back to Phoenix.

Fuddruckers in El Paso is the shizz... they have new mexico green chille... and buffalo burgers...

Five Guys is IT as well... but yeah, hard to compare Five Guys or Fuddruckers to InO when neither are true fast food...

Those Coke machines are called Freestyles. Crazy stuff. I don't know if all of the models have them, but I know the early ones had computers that collected data on drink selections to better understand the regionality of drink preferences, and to identify opportunities for new flavors. The #1 most selected combination on those machines?

Coke + nothing. Don't f with the original, I guess.

indeed the fries must be animal style... the burger... not so much... and Animal style is flippin expensive!!! omg

Wait, you just changed your entire argument from In N Out regular fries to now they must be "animal style?" And then you call my choice monkey poo? Do you see your projection here?

Too funny that this topic came back up. (That's what she said...)

I see very little difference twixt the In N out double with cheese, the DQ double Hunger Buster, the double Whataburger, or the double Sonic. All are freshly cooked. I am simply not fooled by the In N Out gimmick. In N Out burger is simply a smaller Whataburger, but with the option of grilled onions. I believe WhataBurger uses fresh chopped onions, but they accommodate. And they have better fries and jalapenos. And onion rings. Sonic has the best onion rings of that group.

Fuddruckers does not even belong in this comparison. It is the gourmet of the group. Bread baked in front of you, your choice of size of meat and how it it cooked, all the condiments you could ever want at your gluttonous pleasure out in the lobby FOR FREE.

Both Sonic and DQ used to sell a chicken fried steak sandwich, and that is all I used to order. DQ called it the DQ Dude. I don't know what Sonic called it. Identical "burger." That is all I would order from either place until they both stopped. Haven't seen it at Sonic in about 4 years. Current employees never heard of it.

Do a google on it. lol. It was great stuff.

Man, I miss Lotaburger :(:sigh::cry:

Closest thing I can get here is a Sonic cheese burger, with mustard only and contraband green chile smuggled into Oregon.

In-N-Out is just "eh" to me. Five Guys is just "eh" to me as well. If any of you get a chance, check out Redamaks in New Buffalo, MI. It's probably about 30 minutes West of South Bend. It's only open from March-October. Fantastic burger joint near the beach.

This thread reminds me of the How I Met Your Mother episode with Marshall's quest to find the best burger ever in NY. Gotta love the Regis cameo as well.

Dude, are you from NM too? That is the only burger fast food joint we would eat at whenever we were in NM. They too reminded me much of the Whataburger, but with slight different options. Dammit, I'm gonna eat me a burger today.

Yep, I grew up in the Santa Fe area.

I am seriously craving a delicious burger too and its only 830.

It's all beginning to make sense. :)

As far as I'm concerned, the closest fast food to Whataburger or Lotaburger over here is Sonic. In N Out is like the cute lil sister. With awful fries.

Speaking of fries, I have posted that my favorite fast food fries (when freshly cooked) was Wendy's. I'll be damned, I went there a couple of weeks ago, and they slightly changed the style at the local wendy's. Left the skin on. WTF? If it ain't broke, don't fix it...

Hometown favorite, BoogieBurger in Indy is hands down the greatest burger in America. You can go into the tiny joint on any night and there will be a line out the door, 24/7 365 days a year

Next to Mcdonalds, freshly cooked Wendys fries are godly. The newish Wendys natural cut fries are terrible. They just do not taste the same when you dip them in a Frosty.

I was under the impression that Indy is famous for their fried pork loin sandwiches?

^there is some good pork loin to be had in indy, however in order to get the good stuff you have to go to the "less reputable" areas of the city. For example, my personal favorite Uncle Ardie's is in a building with 4 bullet holes in the windows, but its well worth it

Holes in the walls are the best. Its probably the fear of getting violated or killed which makes the taste that much better.

I don't think anyone hates on In N Out burger, because it is fresh, and they keep the menu simple. And they are gimmicky. People fall for that kind of gimmicky wrapping and packaging. But ACamp, even you changed your choice of In N Out fries to that new thingy they have. When my family from out of town visits here, I take them to In N Out. Many say, "this is like a small Whataburger, but awful fries...) :) I have not been to In N Out since apparently they added new fries. Apparently even they knew it was broke. So they are trying to fix it. Skinny cold wobbly suckers. Yuck. Might as well reheat and fry into fry shape yesterday's mashed potatos. Their fries are the main reason I go to Sonic instead of In N Out, since both are within walking distance.

Couple things

1.) Animal style fries are still In N Out fries... and if I want the best fries around... I go to In N Out and get animal style... the reg fries with salt packs and ketchup are damn good too imo.

2.) Sonic is a gimmick, and horrible food.... In N Out just hasn't changed since forever... and has great food.

3.) Whataburger bites off In N out food wise, not the other way around... but whataburgers hamburgers are pretty dang good.

4.) You most def. hate on In N Out... it's sad really, your dislike of Cali is so deep you'll hate on the best fast food burger on the planet just b/c it's a Cali thing. sad.

;)

and the battle rages.

Wow. I think you are raging. So I point out an obvious flaw with In N Out , which they are now trying to change, and all of a sudden I hate California? Geez, if I said I did not like the burger either, would you say I hate earth? Drama queen maybe there ACamp?

Let me give you something else to rage about. I tried an Angus burger from McDonald's last month. Much better than anything Carl's has to offer. Jack in the Box is living in its own dream world, but good for something at least once a year.
