Desmet plays good talent. They produce quite a few of Div 1 players. Being a private school in MO that is. Munir Prince and Paddy Mullen were from the '06 class of Desmet.

Seems to me as if he has good strong legs breaking those ankle tackles, good job #5.

Leaving the rest unsaid!

I'm from MO so I've seen several of the all guys high schools in the STL area quite a bit. dboe is right, they play in the highest class in the state and regularly put out a solid team. It's safe to say they play the best teams in MO. However they haven't produced any studs recently that I can recall.

Mizzou will probably be the team to beat here. They're the only big time program in the state and have a pretty good following in the STL area. They also run a spread attack and throw the ball around a lot. Mizzou fans on the Rivals board and saying the same FWIW.

USC just offered per ESPN. Feel like this is going to be a long recruitment.

There is an article on Irish Illustrated saying the Irish hit right note with Neal but its premium information, anyone have any updates about him and how the visit went?

Just saying Alford stopped by his school talked with his coach. Notre Dame and Oklahoma are recruiting him very hard.

Nice, thanks for the update. Anyone know how we stand with him as far as being his favorite or in his top 3?

I've heard Oklahoma is his favorite. Not all together sure how far behind ND is.

I would say we are for sure in the race.

The hard thing with kids from Missouri, STL for that matter, is if they are good enough to be recruited on a national level they love to look around. His school already has a good pipeline for the big name football players with ND. The two top players they have had in recent years were Munir Prince and Paddy Mullen. I know we are all familiar with them. Personally I was a bit upset they didn't work out great at ND but Paddy got a degree and Munir went on to play for Mizzou. One other guy they had was Wes Kemp. Kid was a baller and I think was under rated. He did end up at Mizzou and is doing good. Because Neal is getting good attention from other schools like OU, Mizz, Arkansas, Wisconsin, etc. They will USUALLY look for a while.

However, when these kids play against the likes of T.J. Moe and Wes Kemp, they can compare themselves with those players they grew up playing against, attended camps with, know the system they came from and see how they translated to Mizzou.

I do think we have a good chance with Durron but that is all speculation. I do know the area and how in recent past the athletes that could go to a big name like OU or Mich State have. In his case, DeSmet has produced two players for ND. I like that to help us.

Missouri fans are already going beserk. Imagine if they get DGB as well? ****. Good luck to Durron, he is an absolute stud and I wish he was Irish.

P.S. Gunner Kiel will apparently be in Norman tomorrow as well...

Per Scout (from a poster on another board):

Durron spoke about seeing QB Gunner Kiel on campus, so I asked if he could shed any light on Kiel’s decision he will be making this Sunday.

“Gunner left about 10 minutes before I committed. He doesn’t even know that I committed, but we talked and I asked him what he would be doing. He just winked at me and said that I would know come Sunday.”

And they just brought in the '11 #1 WR Trey Metoyer and #3 RB Brandon Williams.

I get the feeling the 2013 game won't be a trap game.

DGB is, without a doubt, the most important piece still left in this recruiting class for ND. Whether he goes to Oklahoma, ND or somewhere else will have a HUGE impact on '12/'13/'14.

You also left out Sterling Shepard who is a stud...It's going to be tough for Oklahoma to bring in 3 top 75 WR's....Also don't forget about McCay

At this point, if it's not ND, I hope for Mizzou. At least this way we won't have to see him on the other side of the field aginst OU...we'll only have to see him on SportsCenter and wonder what could have been.
