For what it's worth, this kid is listed as an athlete and higher rated than either Ronald or Tee on 247.

Where did I say that being on a good coaching staff isnt a good thing? I said that he takes credit for a lot of what people he preceeded built. I stand by that.
in regards to his reasoning i was simply stating a fact...leading me to believe he was drawn more to the job more than they were drawn toward him...so relax

That being said he is definitely qualified to take the job. both he and cubit had limited to no head coaching experience. cubit was a coordinator and mattison a position coach, i'm sure that experience helped him.i never said that he wasn't qualified, just said that I dont buy that he is this super-star DC. While Cubit was a coordinator, Mattison had more experience and was a coordinator three times previously (one of which was with WMU). So I think that if either of them was more qualified, it was Mattison, but they chose Cubit.

Yes, I remembered his time at ND, who was the good coordinator he was with on that staff?? Florida was not any good on defense until they got him in 2005, which boosted the resume for the Ravens...so i'd say he knows what he's doing.You are forgetting that Davie was the DC before he got the HC gig, and did a great job under Holtz. He built the defense, and per usual, in swooped Mattison. From 97-00, the defense was never better than 43rd in the country. In Davies last year, he got back involved in the defense in an attempt to save his job... and viola'... a 14th ranked defense. He was then fired and Willingham was hired. Willi demoted Mattison and had one good year of defense. Two years later, Willi and Mattison were both on the unemployment line. So excuse me if I regard that as "underwhelming"

sour grapes dude...bottom line is we really were not that good when davie was coaching and dr. lou probably knew that and jumped ship. if you don't have players you will not be any good period.

if davie did such a good job why has he remained un-employed in the coaching field for going on a decade?? it's not because he's good on tv because, that's for sure not the case.

michigan will be better this year because, they got guys in there that know what they are doing and want michigan to be good, similar to coach kelly and ND. and as a result the product they're selling to recruits will only look more attractive.

The first Davie teams had plenty of talent, and Holtz did not "jump ship". I wont get into it, since this isnt the place, but everybody knows that Holtz's departure was not completely voluntary. Davie wasnt fired because he didn't know defense, he was fired because he stunk as a head coach. This philosophy also goes against your view of Mattison too. Davie took away a lot of Mattison's responsibilities in the final year and the defense improved. Ty kept him on (with a demotion) and preceeded to run the team into the ground. Mattison was also the recruiting coordinator under Big Willi, how did that work out for us?

Your post doesn't really have any facts on why you feel this way about Mattison, so I will agree to disagree with you. There is plenty of relevant evidence that you (and many others) are drastically over-praising Mattison. His history is what it is.

but as I said... this isnt the place. I would be happy to go deeper into this, but it should probably be on another thread. This one is for Reeves.

Back to Armani - Told 24/7 that Michigan and Penn State are his top two by a legitimate margin, followed by Boston College and Stanford. No ND mention despite the offer.

We have jumped into Armani's top 4, with a June visit looking likely. He and Diaco have been building a good relationship, although it sounds like ND is looking at him as more of a reciever / return man right now than a corner. Possible visit date is June 20th.

With this development, could a mod change the position in his title from CB to ATH to be more accurate.

I saw that "one in and one out tweet" over the weekend but didn't think anything of it. Awesome news. Does Michigan still lead?

That's good news that they aren't necessarily looking at him at DB. Lots of talent committed and lots of good prospects still in the mix at the DB position. But this kid has good skills not to find a way to get him on the team.

Go get 'em boys! Michigan rivals site seems to suggest that they might have given him an ultimatum. Sounds a lot like CW recruiting. PSU still leads correct? Maybe BK should Skype with him...
