Again, OLB was not a massive need this year. It stings to whiff on a blue chipper, but it's not the end of the world here.

We can hope Stanford stumbles out of the gate next year, but not when they have a soft *** schedule:

SJSU
@ Duke
@ Arizona
UCLA
Colorado
@ Wazzu
Washington
@ USC
@ Oregon State
Oregon
Cal
Notre Dame

Crap, will they be challenged at all until late October?

that's good....make them think they are hot **** then crush them and toss their spirits into the pacific

@ Arizona could be tough. They have a good qb.

Stanford should pay Harbaugh 100k everytime they get a recruit like this...good academics or not they'd have no chance for guys like this without the success they had with him last year.

Harbaugh doesn't coach there anymore. He is at San Fran.

Went to ND loved it. Went to UF loved it just as much. Wakes up one day takes a **** and says oooo i am going to Stanford. I am happy for Noor but i just dont get it. Wayne Lyons must of really got in his ear. He is getting a top notch education which was probably the deciding factor.

Damn it. Recruiting has just truly begun... Can't blame a kid for choosing Stanford though.

Andrew Luck will lead them to a Pac-10 (Pac-12?) title this year.

They will beat USC and the Quacks...

We will unseat their top 3 ranking later in the year with a big away win.

Write that down.

I'd put the over/under for Stanford wins at 9.5, and the only challenges don't come until October. They'll be a pre-season top 5, build a ton of momentum plowing through the first half of the teams, lose 2-3 games toward the end, and still finish in the top 15.

I just don't see an Andrew Luck-led team stumbling against anyone on that schedule before USC.

Ugh. This stings. I'm with NDLax on this; there aren't many kids out there like Noor, and we need to be the only option for kids that want both an elite education and football program.

"What the f*** are you talking about? The chinaman [Davis] is not the issue here, Dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, Dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, Dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please."

Guys remember we got a 5 star OLB last year. Not at all saying this doesn't burn. But IMO it wasn't are biggest fish in the see. Plus we know we didnt get out recruited. No one works harder than are staff. Long way till signing day. Danny Spond and Prince aren't to shabby either.

The other angle to this story....

Stanford can promise him playing time the moment he steps on campus whereas at ND he would be competing with 5* Ishaq Williams at his "natural" position for 3 years. I mean seriously, besides Lueders who is two years older, what other highly rated OLB prospects do they have?

Notre Dame has not on Ishaq but a lot of other incoming 5*/4* talent in last year's class plus 4* sophomores like Spond and Shembo who are already battling to hold down the other spot. Not saying he's afraid of competition, just saying the lack depth at Stanford may have been a big appeal to him. There is not an athlete out there that doesn't love playing time.

the one thing that I don't get is didn't he want to study buisness and don't they not have an undergraduate buisness school?

yeah I heard they don't have undergrad in business but are number one in business graduate school.....the thing is this kid is an elite player in this class....so assuming in 4 to 5 years he could be in line to get drafted to the NFL....skip NFL for grad school? Personally I'd rather make more money then 90 percent of Americans do in their lifetime just with my signing bonus then going to grad school making 100K plus a year.

I'm not bumbed about this at all... When ND wins 10 games this year, beats SC under the lights, and plays in a BCS game the top recruits will come crawling... We will sign a more highly rated LB in this class, note it!
