FL Players Chris Martin & J. Jenkins Arrested

Florida's star CB J. Jenkins got arrested again, for the 3rd time in 23 months. This one was for pot, the 2nd time he was arrested for that.

My guess is that the school and coaches won't even say anything. Just another SEC arrest-no big deal.

I understand that the school or coaches are not going to do anything about this, but what about the courts? If this is his 3rd arrest within 23 months, you would think that the courts are getting tired of giving him second, third, and fourth chances. But then again I know how the courts are in Fulton County GA, so disregard this post.

That laissez-faire stance really bothers me.... its a controlled substance and against the law to possess or use. Anyone that thinks its a victim-less crime is ignorant.

First off, Floyd wasn't arrested 3 times.

2nd off, it's Florida's overall arrest record that is criminal; we're not talking about just one player here, and we're not talking about busting 10 kids for underage drinking. We're talking some heavy-hitting crimes here.

3rd off, I agree, we really can't be talking about punishments here. Not right now anyways. Ragone didn't lose any time for pot possession, and Floyd (so far) has lost spring football but we don't know if he'll miss any regular season time. But this is Jenkins' 3rd arrest (haven't looked at what he was arrested for earlier) - I'd like to think that something will be done here by the new coach.

4th off, if this turns into a pot vs. alcohol discussion or why pot should be legalized, then I'm deleting all those posts and you can start a new thread on that. This is a thread for bagging on Florida damn it!

Never have or will I justify or give a pass to what Floyd has done. Floyd deserves fair punishment, in court and by BK, for what he has done. That being said our, still on-going, punishment of Floyd is not even comparable to the lack of punishment for a very long list of SEC players.

Turns out Chris Martin and another FL player (backup soph LB) were arrested for pot possession in separate incidents earlier this year, but somehow the media never caught wind of it (or chose not to report it???). Here you go:

It was an April Fools joke.. a lame one. I'm real interested to see what route Muschamp takes on this one. We're gonna know sooner rather than later if there is a new sheriff in town or if Gainesville remains the same, as arrests pile up.
