UPDATE: Mark Richt is putting the full-court press on Geno Smith, selling him on the possibility of wearing Champ Bailey's number 4 jersey (he already wears 4 in high school) and of getting some snaps on offense. "They said I'm the No. 1 cornerback on their board," Smith told Chip Towers of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "They can see me playing the boundary corner, blitzing the quarterback, and they can see me playing in the slot, catching passes and making plays on offense. They just see me as very versatile."
Smith said that he wants to be down to a top five by the end of the summer, and it still sounds as if the three schools he highlighted below will make the cut.

Although he wouldn't go so far as to classify them as a top three, ESPNU 150 Watch List CB Geno Smith of Georgia tells ESPN's Jamie Newberg that three schools currently stand out from among his host of impressive offers: "I was very excited to get that Auburn offer and then they won the national title. I have been to Auburn and I like them and have a good relationship with everyone there. Georgia has that great tradition, good coaches and great players. I feel they are on the right path. Georgia Tech is close, only about 15 minutes away. I have been there three times and feel very comfortable there."
Smith also has offers from the likes of Alabama, Notre Dame and Texas, so he's definitely a big-time prospect. He still considers himself wide open and plans to take unofficials to as many schools as possible, including the likes of Florida State, Miami, LSU and Ohio State.
If the in-state schools make Smith a priority -- as it appears that they have -- can he resist the chance to stay local?
