Going to be a great weekend. This can potentially be a monster year for ND on the field and on the recruiting scene.

Is this the year we have a "Texas Like" spring game in terms of recruting? Maybe it's their Junior Day, but they usually grab a dozen or so in a day. With the visitors scheduled to attend, it would be a great day for multiple committments. Go Irish!

I don't expect any high profile commitments during the spring game weekend. My guess, if anyone, will be Nick Baratti. I do think we have a very solid chance with Darboh and a few others, but I see them maybe more down the line.

I'm going to hope for a Hegarty like surprise commit from Peat.

Baratti could be a verbal if he buys into playing safety

Mauk could pop.

Maybe Greenberry, if he gets in offer, and ND meets expectations.

Not sure about Kiel attending

Also you have to love that if you look on scout, notre dame is in the mix for about 3 top players per position. This coaching staff is brilliant

Update from a guy with really good info on II:

Jarron Jones--planning summer visit and we're in it here
Noah Spence--planning summer visit with pro-ND HC and we could have a shot
Jordan Jenkins--longshot who likes the SEC
Royce Jenkins-Stone--may not offer since he's an ILB and we want OLBs mostly
Brian Nance--still recruiting and like him, though more an ILB, but nothing further yet for a visit, etc
James Ross--already had great visit in Feb and we're pursuing with a decent shot, perhaps as the lone ILB type
Nelson Agholor--still recruiting hard and like him a lot as a WR or FS, but haven't been able to get a visit yet, though hoping for summer or OV
Travis Blanks--still recruiting hard and like him a lot as a CB/FS, but he's probably not able to visit ND until an OV is paid for in the fall; think they have an outside shot if they get a visit
Brian Poole--not really pursuing so far
Yuri Wright--has some work to do for ND and may be a longer shot, though he likes us
Taylor McNamara--planning a summer visit and fall OV and likes ND quite a bit, and we like him a lot (probably right behind Taylor from FLA)
Evan Boehm--not really pursuing so far; may not be the spread-type C they prefer
Dorial Green Beckham--everyone knows his story and his brother's illness is more important now; ND recruiting him as hard as anyone and they definitely are planning a visit when they can make it for a couple days to check everything out, starting with academic support and all that; as of noe, we're in the thick of it

Also, we may not take a "pure" NT this class given our personnel and mix of schemes available to us now. More likely to take a hybrid DT/NT type, or even a 34 DE/DT type who could swing inside as a 43 DT/NT. Jarron Jones, Jordan Watkins, Sheldon Day, Eddie Goldman, Courtney Wynn, and Schutt if interest resumes, are examples of that.

Greg Garmon could be a star if he gets an offer. Hes a grade below me in high school and the kid is an all around great player. He can play Rb or safety. I just don't see him getting an offer due to the classes he takes and his academic performance.

I've heard he's a UNC lock.

I talk to him quite a bit. And your right, hes pretty much a UNC lock, unless Miami comes around. The U has always been his dream school, but still haven't offered for some reason. I asked him jokingly to go to ND if he could, but I don't think hes an Irish fan at all

I didn't pay the attention to recruiting before Kelly came aboard that I do now. I am assuming that there are going to be alot more prospects at the game than in previous years and the talent level is up. Anyone got some insight on this. Did Lou bring in this hall to the spring game or were things different back then.

I'd prefer everyone reschedules if it ends up being some whack Snow Bowl in the middle of April.

The weather gods are just showing them what to get used to come October. If weather scares them that much then stay in the south, i want tough minded football players

Should also be noted that '11 Preferred Walk-on WR Eric Lee will be there, with his high school teammate Darboh.

If we could pull 3 out of the 4 wideouts that are attending (and with offers) that would be incredible.

It sucks the recruits list doesn't include any running backs.

Good point. To those more knowledgeable than myself... if Keith Marshall is Plan A.... who are our more realistic Plan A1 or Plan B?

Some 2013 stud is my guess...

But more likely the meantime, another Cam McDaniel type of kid that steps up this year in HS FB big time.

We have several other good options that we have a shot at right now. Byron Marshall, Will Mahone, Brian Kimbrow, I'Tavious Mathers, KeiVarae Russell, and Chris Mangus are all offered RBs who we at least have a decent opportunity to take in this class.
