...

Villanova (21-8, 9-7) is looking to bounce back from its fourth loss in six games, 81-68 to then-No. 23 St. John's on Saturday.

The Red Storm jumped out to an 18-4 lead in the opening minutes. The Wildcats pulled to within one with four minutes remaining, but St. John's closed the game on a 16-4 run.

Corey Stokes scored 20 points and went 6 of 10 from 3-point range, but the rest of the team shot 34.1 percent overall. The Wildcats were coming off a 69-64 defeat to Syracuse last Monday in which they shot 32.3 percent.

...

Leading scorer Corey Fisher has struggled badly over the past two games, totaling 10 points and shooting 4 of 26. Fisher is averaging 15.5 points, but has been held to 12 or fewer in four of the last five contests.

If Notre Dame plays the way they did saturday, they'll get killed. That being said, I think they will play better but still lose. Villanova needs a win badly. I think their outside shooting and improving inside presence propel the cats to a big road win.

Perfect for ND. If the NCAA Tournament was at Joyce, ND would win it all every year. Such a massive home court advantage.

I will miss Ben Hansbrough tremendously. I agree with Bill Raftery that Ben has brought an intensity and fight to Notre Dame that was missing with Harangody. Everyone used to stand around and watch Gody make a post move and usually score, but he didn't really play much defense and neither did the team. Teams seem to take after the attitude and confidence of their leader.

Can't believe there was no foul called on Abro or BenBro at the end there. Still, I was a little worried about tonight's game despite Nova's recent struggles... absolutely delighted with our position. If we don't give up a silly run to start the half then it should be just about over.

Agreed. They got mauled. Let's hope a foul/two free throws doesn't come back to haunt us.
