Couldn't agree more. That's a suspect coaching decision. It's more of the Duke middies giving Brenneman way to much time and space to shoot his lefty snipe

No, there is, but the game was such a blowout they didn't go to it because there was no need. From the moment we got up by 5 goals there was no way we were going to lose with our defense. All of that scoring because we started playing more "free" and not in our system.

We used a lot of young guys at the end there and they all want to get their experience and points when they can. In my season preview I wrote for ESPN I said watch out for Westy Hopkins and I stick by that... that frosh is going to be a serious player by the end of the season.

Very good win today. ND should move up to #4 or #3 in the next polls... which is honestly where they belonged before the season started.

I don't want to bother anyone with bonehead ignorant questions, so ignore this if you will. But I'm completely unfamiliar with the rules. The one that I'd like to know about is: what are you allowed to do to stop the guy with the "ball"?? What stops someone from just running through the field and cramming it in the goal?? I know that this obviously isn't possible, but what does the defense do to stop it?? My instinct would be to run over to the guy and [while ducking the stick] just knock him down. I assume that isn't allowed either [I had a similar problem with the rules in a pick-up soccer game once---much screaming and hollering resulted].

A defender tries to square up the guy running down the field and get a stick check to knock the ball loose. If a defender just lowers their shoulder or lunges out with their stick the offender will usually just run right past them and score
