That was a real good interview.

I liked the question about the BE wearing you down. I was thinking about that the other day how if it is feasible for teams to take it easy down the stretch if you are guaranteed a tournament birth. But then there is pressure to win the Regular season title and the Conf Tournament. I guess its a matter of whats more important- number 1 being and NCAA run or 1A and 1B- conf titles.

Also like what he said about Hansbrough. Ever since the 4 minutes left in the Pitt game I have been a giant fan of his.

Yeah, Hansbrough is one heck of a basketball player. I don't know that he'll be a great pro but I wouldn't best against him. Really didn't know what to expect from him after he transferred from Miss St but have been extremely pleased these past 2 years.

Whatever Mr & Mrs Hansbrough did raising Tyler and Ben, they did something right!

Haha, yea. Solid genes.

I didnt realize he was 6'3'' until Brey said that. He could easily throw on 15-20 pounds and be a decent NBA player. Very interesting to ponder, though.

When Tyler won NPOY a few years back there was a really good story about the family

A good college buddy of mine is a typical So Cal Sports fan... he has about thrity different jersey's from about 28 different teams, each one at one time or another was "His lifelong team"... including the Red Sox, USC, UCLA, Angels, Lakers, Texas, Bama, The raiders, Rams, Pats... no joke

one thing he has stuck to is he hates Notre Dame (Until they win a title)... but one thng we agree on totally... Notre Dame basketball would be seeded two-four seeds higher every year if they were in any other conference and the year's ND missed the tourney they'd be in without trouble... the big east is brutal....... this is just our year in conference, but we've been this good before in the past ten years... more than a couple times.

So are saying the BE is down this year and ND isnt as good as one would tend to think?

Im not asking this for you to answer and for me to fire back an argument. Just wondering if I am correctly reading into what you are saying....

NO, the BE is as good as ever... it's just one of those years where it's falling into place for this program is my point... ND basktball has not been some low end program that just now got good... they play in a conference that may be better than the NBA developmental leagues and even though they may have had equally talented and maybe even more talented teams the record at times doesn't tell the whole story for anyone in the BE except for the top two or three teams... that's all

I don't know that ND ever misses the dance under Brey if they play in any other conference... it has been a common story up to this season, start hot in the non conference... start BE play and hover at about 500... no major shame in missing the dance in this conference over the past ten years imo...

I know this hasn't anything to do with ND basketball, but more about Rome. But it is kind of cool. Steve Elkington was on the Rome show yesterday while sitting in my office.

isnt steve elkington Rome's favorite interview? i think he tells a great story about boozing with john daly. They were smashed. The next morning he saw JD on the first tee and JD was eating a bag of chips and said to steve "not a bad night." Steve said "yea" to sound like he could hang with antone while drinking but he was really hurting. Then explained to Rome that he needed a B-12 shot to get off of the 1st tee.

hahahaha.

Elk is indeed Rome's favorite interview. I hosted Elk at my course for a clinic on Tues. He is incredible, wickedly funny. Then he came back Wednesday to do some 3D bio-kinetic computer hi tech swing stuff. Blew my mind. Anyway it is surreal when your favorite living golfers hangs out with you and is even better than you thought. check out Welcome to The Village

Maybe, but I was the same kind of "tool" playing sports. If you're a leader you've got to push yourself and your teammates for perfection and play hard & hungry at all times. I love Hansbrough.

Disclaimer: if you're referring to some specific personal incident (and not his general demeanor) please disregard.
