*Bet vbucks*

This vBook is to bet vbucks on which quarterback will START the opening game of the 2011 season against South Florida.

The event will be scheduled to close at kickoff against USF, however, for all of you who think you are sneaky, as soon as Kelly announces a starter, it will officially close. It would not be fun if you could know who the announced starter is and then vbet heavily on that person right up until kickoff.

The twist is that if Kelly names Crist the starter (Event closes), there is a chance he may get hurt or maybe Kelly will change his mind and go with someone else between then and the official kickoff. Or maybe in a suprising twist he lines Golson up in the shotgun for an option play to open up the season. Or maybe a la Andy Reid/Michal Vick, he lines Golson up at WR and runs a WR pass (in which case two bets would pay out).

Anyway, from the looks of the current QB Situation thread, some of you will b1tch and moan about the odds. They are what they are.

Dayne Crist Starts Game 1: 1/1
Tommy Rees Starts Game 1: 3/1
Andrew Hendrix Starts Game 1: 9/2
Everett Golson Starts Game 1: 25/1
Any Other Player Starts Game 1: 125/1
Nate Montana Starts Game 1: 250/1
Luke Massa Starts Game 1: 1000/1

Good Betting and Good Luck!

Warning: if you bet all of your vbucks now, they will be locked into this even until August Sept or whenever he names the starter....

Golson and Hendrix are the best QB's for the system. Golson has ran this offence the entire time he has been in HS. Having Tommy in their really restricts the offence. And I know Kelly wont run Crist as much as he would want to.

I put 25,000 on golson, possibly the dumbest thing i have ever done haha. Crist will most likely be the starter

golson leading the way? hmmm i dont see that

I don't think most of the people betting on Golson see him as the #1 QB. They like the 25-1 odds and perhaps the prospects of Kelly pullling a fast one and starting Golson for the first drive. Chryspchuck has money on BOTH Hendrix and Golson to start.

Golson could be the #4 QB at game time but the one Kelly starts to catch USF's defense unprepared. USF's DC has video on Crist and Rees as an ND QB but for Hendrix and Golson he has to watch HS video and project them into Kelly's offense. He'll get a look at them on a couple of play in the B&G game but not much to work.

Probably a dumb question, but do college quarterbacks follow the same rules the NFL uses with regards to 3rd and 4th string QB's being inserted into the game? Not sure if anyone is even familiar with the rule, but i know there is some NFL rule regarding if the 3rd QB enters the game before the 2nd quarter then the starting QB cant return..Not sure if that is even correct...

If so, it may negate the Golson idea above and what I put in the first post...

No you can play 30 qb's if you want. Irish did last year in the Michigan game when Crist went down early.

people betting on Crist assume he has somehow learned the offense in his time away. i guess w/o rudolph he might look to spread the ball around, but i simply cannot see him grasping what kelly is trying to do.
