no offense to any Rivals or II guys or fans of them on here but Sampson, Jake and Prister have had as much access to inside info on ND football since Kelly came to SB as you and me if we quit our jobs, moved to SB and started writing articles about ND.

This was Niklas' first visit to ND, right? Hunch tells me that with the depth at DE he sees himself playing OL at both schools... and as such USC gets the lead. I just don't think a So. Cal kid whose only impression of South Bend is the winter would make the decision to go there everything being even.

I'll keep crossing my fingers though... I'll be surprised if he is Irish tomorrow but stranger things have happened. Much, much stranger.

Sapp over at B&G is stating he's heard from a close source Niklas may be starting to lean ND. It's just buzz at this point, but the Trojans will be tough to beat, as it seems Cali was high on his list.

I have a good feeling here. Kind of interesting his announcement is after BK's presser, would like to hear about him from BK tomorrow if he does become Irish.

I hope that the rumblings are true. Landing Troy would be such an incredible cherry on top of the proverbial sundae- a great way to end this incredible recruiting season by Kelly and co.

Just got off the phone with an old pal in the athletic department. He reaffirmed that anyone who says they know definitively what Niklas is doing is a liar.

He feels we have at least a 50/50 shot at him based on the post-visit word on the street around campus. This kind of thing can change hourly though as the day progresses. Stay tuned.
