1. DeAnthony Thomas is being pulled on hard by Oregon. Might be too little too late... everything being said right now from silent commit to Oregon for a month to still a lock to SC. The most informed conclusion I'm hearing is that he visited Oregon and was wowed by the all-powerful Nike swoosh. He is now really starting to think things over but will probably remain a Trojan. A case of too little too late... and he is from the hood (seriously... he's from Crenshaw) in SC's backyard so it would be the most ridiculous decommit ever considering that he has been actively recruiting kids for the Trojans for awhile now. LET'S GO DUCKS!

2. Okotcha is 60/40 Irish. I'll take that at face value.. which means that with about 36 hours to go it's a two horse race between us and Oklahoma.

3. Niklas visit is over. Everything is all quiet on the western front. We'll have to wait until Wednesday... but I'm going to guess he goes to SC. Just a gut feeling. Lane the Liar seems to wrangling kids very well this year.

4. Tuitt did an interview with a guy from B&G. The interviewer is horrendous. It's like watching Michael Scott on the Office. But Tuitt basically says that his mom put her foot down and said you're going to ND because once you have that degree you will never ever have to struggle like I did. She knows about Tech only graduating 50% of kids and is a smart woman.

That's all I've got. Discuss!

lol good call in my euphoria of IE being back up I somehow juxtaposed two recruits. I have no idea how that happens. Silly brain cells.

To elaborate on Deanthony Thomas.... I spent a LOT of time today on Oregon and USC boards. Here are some facts:

1. Oregon has typically not allowed players to visit who are committed to other universities.
2. There is a guy on wearesc who broke the news of the visits multiple hours (like 4 to 5) before it happened and apparently has a source high up in the Oregon program. He has been 10,000% spot on with all of his information even when people were calling him a troll. He says that Deanthony committed to Oregon on his visit.
3. It seems that Deanthony may have committed to Oregon but is getting a lot of pressure from God brother Victor Blackwell and Farmer to stick with SC. In the meantime, he has gone completely dark and is unreachable by everyone. The only contact has been with his HS coach who said he is unavailable for comment.

This is going to be a battle for the next day and a half. Grab your popcorn.

I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night, and I may have saved money by switching to Geico.

So... I called off work today and laid in the fetal position rocking myself to comfort due to the outage.

Thank you for the information.

dr. nation (Tuitt) has been reporting daily on his facebook and ending most with GOOOOOOOOOOOOO IRISH! he has also been asking the 'Irish Nation' their input on facebook about him starting a team fan page for the current class coming in and the future. he says he's working on it. even if his mom was the driving force that brought him to ND, he is definitely happy and not disappointed

USC coaches have a call tonight with DT. This is their latch ditch effort to keep him with SC. My money is on him staying with the Trojans... these kinds of situations are where Lane the Liar and Orgeron excel.

DT is as good as gone (unless he is straight lying to mods now and is going to pull a ridiculous switcheroo). In other news, USC is going to add at least two more very good prospects in Pomee and Walker. So it's kinda a wash... but my god am I glad we won't have to see this kid on the other side for 4 years.

The best part is that he looks to be pulling an LBJ and announcing 5 PM Weds in the LA ESPN Zone.

I remember watching him in the all-star game and I was getting queasy thinking about him playing against ND for the next 4 years. I wouldn't mind seeing this kid become a Duck either.

Aundrey Walker? I think they have better shots with other recruits at OL like Niklas and Richardson. I would put him 3rd in "likelihood." But nothing would surprise me at this point..

Nah, Walker is just about a sure thing. I thought he was headed to OSU until comments made tonight. Richardson is going to Tenn. Niklas is a wildcard.

All of this is pure speculation based on reading a million different boards and quotes. Walker made some comments tonight to the effect of "USC is my dream school and my parents are going to move out there with me" and there has been chatter from SC recruits that he is headed out west.

Good stuff. Had not noticed those quotes. To bad too...I was hoping u$c was going to miss on OL but Hobbi and Walker are serious talents.

Quick updates on the recruiting goings on of our opponents...

Michigan landed a pretty lowly rated "power back." Whoopie. Tomorrow will be a big day for them... if they lose Fisher and don't land any remaining targets this class is a failure. If they land a bunch of remaining targets this could be a very solid class.

Marcus Roberson appears to be headed to SC. Auburn apparently pulled his schollie after he committed there because they got a big time silent. Stay classy SEC.

DT just might be staying with USC. At least it appears USC football players and recruits seem to think he is. Peer pressure may have won out in the end. Either that or he is just telling everyone what they want to hear so there is a bright spotlight on him for his announcement tomorrow. Considering how USC got Seantrel to do up his announcement big... this really would not surprise me if this was an orchestrated drama by Kiffin & Co. to make USC look awesome heading into their presser directly following his announcement.

Anyone who tells you they know what Niklas is doing is a liar.

Lastly, from what I'm reading... if USC holds on to DT and lands the ~4-5 remaining recruits they are on the inside track for.... they are going to be so far over the schollie limit it's crazy. Expect a ton of gray shirting and cut scholarships after the appeal fails.

Antonio Richardson is not as much of a Tennessee lock as everyone thinks. He may indeed end up at UT tomorrow but Georgia is pushing very hard and he is buying into it.

Tennessee looks to close very hard after picking up Byron Moore yesterday, Cameron Clear today, and they sit in the driver seat for Richardson and maybe Curt Maggit and Lamar Dawson.

No, considering how scholarships are already at a premium, if we whiff on Niklas I do not see any surprises coming our way. I am no insider, but it would make the most sense to use it on a guy like Romine for depth this year or maybe leave it open for flexibility or a walk-on.

Next year scholarships are going to be at an absolute premium so the staff is not likely to use any this late in the game on a guy they do not feel is special. The 2011 class was all-about depth... and then we happened to land some really talented defensive players. 2012 will be all about hitting home runs.

I agree with LAX, just use the rest of schollies on our 5th year guys, unless there is a super star out there.

There is a pic up of him now on wearesc.com and he is decked out in Oregon gear. Best part is he is standing next to Snoop Dogg's son. Most of them seem to think he is a goner and now are saying its not a big loss. Ha.
