Before I start let it be known, I despise anything and everything about YBU. Having said that, there is no doubt that Ferdette is the best player so far this season. He is an unbelievable scorer, passer and and can virtually get a good shot whenever he decides. In fact, there really isnt any debate, this isnt football where everything is SEC approved. A player outside of the so called power conference or a team can actually win awards and have a chance to win it all.

I witnessed first hand 47 points, which included a half court shot, and a missed break away dunk. Even when he missed the dunk, the crowd didnt jeer him, we were too much in awe. He probably wont be drafted in the first round, but he will probably win ROY, he is NBA ready and is the best player in NCAA basketball.

He is the player of the year in the NCAA, but he is not the best player. Ask KPENN if he can drop 40 at will though :)

He's going to be a very good NBA player. He's very different from Morrison and Reddick, the main reason being that he has beyond NBA three range. He will be able to catch and shoot with the best of them from the moment he gets into the league. He's the kind of guy that will compliment a team with a pure PG very well.

Reddick had the same range as Jimmer in college, they are both lights-out college shooters. IMO Jimmer should look to Reddick to see the type of career he can have in the NBA. The only problem is that J.J. is a bigger body and is a better defender right now. He is going to have to pick up his game on that side of the ball if he wants to have a significant NBA career.

Wait, they play defense in the NBA?!

If, say, he is drafted by the Jazz, he wins ROY!That system would fit him, ala Horney coming off baseline picks and hitting threes and then curling and hitting the free throw line jumper.

The kid will put up between 15 to 20 points a game and average 3-3.5 assists. In any system.

If someone like G.H. (wont bash him yet), can be a first round pick (9), or even drafted, Jimmer should go number 1.

Jimmer is NOT the best player in College Basketball but he might be the POY with Kemba Walker.

JJ Reddick is a darn good player...very valuable. If Jimmer is that good, it will be impressive. He can be a very good role player. Imagine if he were on the Miami Heat. He'd can about 5-6 threes every night. If he goes to Cleveland however...perhaps he's forgotten and out of the league in 4 years.

I wish we could have seen a full year at Duke for Kyrie Irving, as well as Enes Kanter at Kentucky. 2 top-5 picks IMO that would have changed a lot for those two teams, as well as possibly the POY race. Not saying they would overtake Jimmer or Kemba, but it would be nice to see more than a 2 man race.

The only reason I would even consider Walker is his game winners and tough competition.

But stat wise Jimmer all the way.

Jimmer reminds me of Danny Ainge, can get to the basket when he wants, tough, and can shoot from the parking lot.

Haha, I don't know how many of you read Bill Simmons on ESPN, but I find his mailbags great. Anyway, he just stated on Jimmer:

Q: Just wondering your thoughts on Jimmer Fredette. Reading articles about him, scouts seem divided. What kind of pro do you think he'll make? Any comparable players to his style?
-- Nick McLain., Indianapolis

SG: Remember, as long as you have one elite skill, you can play in the NBA for 8-10 years. Jimmer can fill it. He won't be a bust. I see him landing somewhere between a homeless man's Mark Price and an extremely poor and almost destitute man's Stephen Curry. Could he eventually carry your second-team offense for six minutes per half? Yes. Could he thrive as a spot-up shooter on the right team? Yes. Would you have to hide him on defense at all times? Yes. Would it be fun to scream "JIMMER!" and watch him swish 28-foot 3-pointers? Yes. Would it be fun to have an NBA star whose name sounds like what they called an erection in 1920? Of course.

I spit out my coffee at work.

OK, but I'll say it. Kyrie Irving would be the POY over Jimmer and any other player this year if he weren't injured.
