I agree with this, but priority needs for them would be RB and OL. Also, don't sleep on Jordy Nelson!

A great QB makes great WRs less of a necessity. I also agree with CT that Nelson is a solid receiver who shouldn't be overlooked. If they get a solid RB (even if Grant comes back healthy) and some OL help, that team is going to be scary for years.

I'm sure most people would agree that Aqib Talib is one of the better corners in the NFL. Well Jordy Nelson used to torch him in college!

Finley is a stud and if it weren't for his injury, would probably be considered one of the top 2 or 3 tight ends in the NFL. Being both a Packer and an Irish fan, I do see some similarities between the two in regards to their height.

Ala Peyton Manning.

Rudy's going to be a stud, hands down...you gotta remember the impact he had this year on a bad wheel. Even though it was at the college level his size and speed when healthy will make him an absolute nightmare for coordinators in the pros. He's bigger than all linebackers and good enough to get open one on one with a safety...plus his ball skills are 2nd to none at the te position. Finely stretches the field at the position, but Rudy is the complete package...and yes I am biased.

Per Brian Hardin on twitter, here are the 5th year returnees.... Ragone, Nuss, Gray, Ruffer, H. Smith, and Dever.

Umm...... wouldn't that mean we have 0 open spots???? Just doing some rough mental math here.

Also gathered from twitter...

@hansensouthbend: Keep in mind they still have to go thru a protracted process of making it official.

“@hansensouthbend: This presents a bit of a math problem which will likely be taken care of attrition (transfers), even if ND doesn't get any more commitments.”

“@BGInews: ... The fifth-year eligible players that aren't applying include - Emeka Nwankwo, Steve Paskorz, Matt Romine and Brandon Walker.”

I would rather have Romine instead of Nuss. Romine played well when Dever went down.

Didn't BK state during his "state of the union" address that all eligible players applied? Therefore Hardin must mean not accepted. Right?

Updated the list.

Currently puts the roster at the 85 Max with really only Niklas left on board

right now we are 1 over and could end up as much as 4 over 85...how do you see this problem being alleviated?

Transfers? Turning down recruits? I'm sure the coaches know what they're doing, so I wouldn't be too worried.

ok, then how do we get around the 1 that we may end up over?

Well there is no guarantee that ND will add anyone (plus you got to hope the staff keeps everyone).
There is also no guarantee Montana will get a scholly next year.
Plus with Crist and Rees on the roster, with Golson joining, you have got to believe that Hendrix or Massa will transfer

I hope that's not the logic the staff is using to work their way to the 85...what if those boys don't transfer?? I'm thinking they got some inside info on the recruits, meaning, our class is set as is.
