Kudos to Hayseed!!! He cracked the Rivals Top 25 Position power rankings today for DB's. He deserves some credit after all the bashing he has taken in the last 2 years.

He was one of my favorite recruits of his class. See you in 2011 Harrison!!

I was calling for him to "graduate", the common phrase I use when referring to an underperforming upper-classmen all the time last year. Then, I noticed he was all over the place this year early in the season. I told my friend's "Hayseed's playing out-of-his-mind this year" and they laughed. After the USC game we were all high-fiving white guys.

Hayseed's going to be huge next year!

I'm so glad he's coming back, and look forward to another year of great defense.

****, hopefuly a decade of GREAT defense with the way things are stacking up!

Smith really suprised me this year. I must admit, I thought he was just a poor man's Zibby. But he is tough as nails and seems to be smarter at reading offenses.

He still lacks that recovery speed you like to see from a guy in the secondary, but if he can put himself in better positions (which another year of experience will do) he can eliminate some dumb mistakes he made this year.

This is one spot I'm not too concerned about next season. It's the rest of the secondary I'm worried about.

I was a big Smith hater last couple seasons, but his play this year certainly turned around my expectations and opinions of him.

I'm not usually a debbie downer, and I guess I'm alone on this one...

I am still not a Harrison Smith fan. Did I love all 3 Sun Bowl interceptions? Yes. Did that change my mind about the kid? Sorry, but no. Yes, Harrison Smith contributed to our defense, but there were too many times where I saw him make bad plays that the good ones couldn't make up for it. From missed tackles, to lack of effort, to falling down and letting usc win (This thread wouldn't exist if usc didn't literally "drop the ball") I just found myself hanging my head at Smith too many times. Don't get me wrong, I wish only the best for the kid, and since it seems like he will be back next year, I hope he gives me every reason to jump on the Hayseed bandwagon. Go ahead and tear me apart all you want, but I can't bring myself to say "Hooray for Harrison!" just yet.

I don't know how you can say he had a lack of effort, he made some mistakes this year but he gave as much effort as anybody on the team. I think you may want to go back and re watch some of the games this season because he was in on alot of plays from runs to pass plays.
