Well lets get him. Unless he is dead set on usc he should be Irish. The whole acitng thing is okay, however, a degree from UND hold more value. He can act with a degree in BSBM.

I really dont see how he fits into their offense. They are stacked at RB and they dont utilize small/shifty WR's. He is under 6ft and 175 pounds. Frankly, he wont play rb at Notre Dame. He is clearly of the Riddick/TJ mold. If he looks at the three teams (U$C, Stanford and ND), Notre Dame is the only team utilizing the players that share his skill set. If he goes to U$C, I do not see him turning into an impact player.

If he wants to go to U$C because of academic reasons (joke all you want, if he is interested in theatre, they clearly offer the best program) then I wish him well. He will just need to accept the reality that he will be sacrificying not only his football career, but also his professional (real world jobbies, not the NFL) career if it turns out he isnt the next Will Smith.

Great points. As in anything there's always that instinct to be close to home, close to friends ie. girlfriends, and the fact that U$C has been a name.

As we all know, L.A is the place to be for actors but there are other alternatives to consider, once he has played cfb, he can move to the NFL or acting. He will already be a known name and the ND degree WILL help his cause.

Is a decision in the works for early next week?

Wow, Coach Kelly visiting Sunday, these guys put in some SERIOUS hours on the trail. When this is said and done I hope they atleast give themselves a few days off. Man, you can see why Urban was so amped to give it up.

Maybe Amir is practicing up. Maybe, just maybe, he is acting like he is interested in U$C, and commits to us Sunday afternoon. He will get his name out there more tearing up opposing defenses for us than he will blending in over there. When he is ready to go into acting, I am sure that there will be opportunities that open up because of the ND pipeline that he will have been a part of. Just my opinion and how I look at it. Hopefully, thats how he will look at it as well.

Will Smith, Dolph Lundgren, and few others went to MIT. You don't need to go to acting classes to be an actor.

How do you figure Amir won't play running back in this offense? Theo Riddick was only moved to wide reciever because Brian Kelly wanted all the best athletes on the field at the same time. We just lost Armando Allen and Robert Hughes. Amir Carlisle is not even close to the same mold as T.J. Amir will get his look at running back and I think he will shine in this offense. Brian Kelly loves a small and quick running back that has good hands out of the backfield. This kid is going to be a stud. I still think Notre Dame lands this kid to cap off an amazing weekend.

This has got to be one of the best recruiting weeks in recent memory. Floyd, Martin, Ishaq, then Lynch? Amazing.

Are you saying USC is close to home for Carlisle?

He is a NorCal kid. His school is about twenty mins away from Stanford.

During the AA practices everybody took notice that Amir's future is as more of a WR than a true out and out RB.

I describe him as a playmaker more so than categorizing him as a RB or WR but all in all I see him as a guy that Kelly would keep fluid and move him around get some touches as a RB but that he would be in the slot, as flanker and whatnot.

Kelly is now visiting the Atkinsons tomorrow instead of today...not sure what that means about any potential visit to Carlisle though, but he will most definitely be in the area.

Last say in this matter rests with Kelly... Let's hope he pulls one out for the ages.

With Roberson, McDaniel, J Gray and Cierre Wood and possibly Huggins (maybe), where would a 175 pound slasher fit in? He certianly didnt use that style last year with Allen, Wood and Hughes whom are all different styles than Amir. When has Kelly preferred small backs? Even when at Cincinnati, he used Pead, whom is 200 pounds. All of these guys are different skill sets than Amir.

As you said, Kelly wants to put his best athletes on the field. So dont take my comment as a shot at Amir. What I am saying is that Amir is the fast, shifty type of mold that TJ and Riddick also share. They both see the field and are game changers. Amir would be too, just not as a three down back. He wouldnt press Cierre, Gray or Roberson (BK has expressed that he really likes this kid) in the three deep. He would certianly be a big part of what we do, but he would do it in the same manner that TJ/Riddick do (who were both 4* players with almost identical measurables). Which if you ask me, should be VERY exciting for Amir.

Just my opinion.

Ugh...Carlisle's height and playing weight are very similar to Pead and Allen's coming out of highschool.

Armando Allen was 5'10'' / 180 out of highschool.

Amir is 18 years old and will put on 10-15 pounds in college.

Ugh you...

Both were over 10 pounds heavier and were used as one cut pounders on their high school teams. They both also were noted to as recruits that needed to get bigger to play the position. Neither were considered hybrid backs while Amir is universally viewed as one. Pead was also the most physically gifted back on Cinci's roster, Amir would not be at ND. Furthermore, if other teams planning on using him as a WR/Ath.... then why would Kelly... who prefers the pass first spread, keep him off the field rather than use him as a slot reciever?

pfff...

Wow,

Ok, coaches who are recruiting Amir have told him they want him at RB and that's where he will get his first shot. If that doesnt work out then I don't care where he plays, he'll be on the field.

Where are these "rumors" coming from that he's a Trojan?

I think a poster on DD said he heard that Carlisle was going to USC. He's the poster who's had the inside info on Rabasa and Lynch, but he doesn't mention a source on this latest rumor.

I'm saying "ugh" because I have no idea where you are getting this "10 pounds heavier" information from.

Carlisle is listed at 181 on Rivals/ESPN and 190 pounds on scout. Allen was listed at 180 pounds on Rivals/ESPN and 185 pounds on scout. Pead was listed between 184-185 on each.
