Actually finished #18 in Sagarin's Predictor Ranking which he considers his most accurate. ND was highest 5 loss team ranked and ranked higher than several 2, 3, and 4 loss teams.

Stanford was the only ND opponent ranked ahead of the Irish. MSU plummeted to #31 just ahead of Pitt.

ND's Strength of Schedule stayed at #22 despite the pastings of the State of Michigan teams.

This I like...and see it as very solidly appropriate for who we were at season's end. Kelly took us from low mediocrity to a pretty powerful team. Wish the whole nation could understand that. One year...the man's a genius. And with a sputtering offense.

yep, exactly. and now with the defense stepping up and hopefully a stronger offense next season. we should be ranked and stay there.....optimistically speaking of course. barring any injuries, etc.
