Anyone else love when BC loses?

I hate BC with a passion. There fans are disrespectful pieces of trash. My cousin said that while she was at ND BC fans/players would trash ND's campus (urinated all over the visitor locker room) and obnoxious asshats when they tailgate. I love when they lose. I hope we hang 50 on them next year.

We are going to hurt Rettig. Spaziani as their head coach is another example of why they will always be Fredo. He is Wannstache-lite.

Was disappointed Nevada couldn't hang 40 on them.

BC fans are almost as bad as Michigan fans but not quite. Such a huge chip on their shoulders. I love it when they get beat by anyone but USC or Michigan.

Every year we play them you hear the soundbites of the players talking about how ND didn't want them blah blah blah and how they have a chip on their shoulders. They had an amazing run at mediocrity while ND was amidst the worst 15 years of football in it's history. I am happy that BC is going back to where it belongs...ND's punching bag. I hope we run the score up on them every year.

They've never been our punching bag. In fact, they have a history of knocking us off when we are good and they are terrible.

Well...up until 1998 we were 8-2 against them. Unfortunately, 93 was heartbreaking. From 99 til 2008 we were 1-7 against them.

We did own them for awhile

Right on, Tommy. During that 8-2 run, ND routed BC 3 times, 54-7, 48-21, and 52-20.

They were marvellously awful this year.

With all the hate I have, I have to admit, they could be pretty good next year. We play them somewhere around 11/19 I believe. I hope we are both undefeated going into that game, and we bury them by 6 TD's...crushing their season, and any hopes of making their first BCS bowl.

I'm pretty shocked that A.) BC won 7 games this year and B.) kept it a close game against Nevada.

Maybe it's because they're playing in a weak ACC, but they are constantly overachieving. There's just always something strange with BC.

We went into Chestnut Hill this year and more or less dominated and took our foot off the gas half way through the 3rd quarter. I mean, BC looked terrible.

Yet, they had the No. 1 rushing defense this year and still made a bowl game. It's crazy.

I mean, how is their defense that good? How do they play FSU close and beat Clemson? How do they only gain 185 yards and still stay with Nevada?

Their offense is abysmal! I think you could make the case that BC will have the weakest offense we'll face in 2011 (Wake Forest up there too), so we "should" beat them easily.

They'll be good, and with their history of knocking off highly ranked Irish teams (I hope we're Top 15 by that time), I'll be a tad worried.

Also, I'd gauge my eyes out if they were undefeated by November when we play them.

They catch NC State, FSU, Maryland, Clemson, Va Tech and Miami in conference next year. Plus, along with us, Northwestern, UCF and UMASS out of conference which (for BC standards) is a pretty tough OOC slate.

I'm very interested to read Phil Steele's preseason writeup on their offense. What is there to say?

The back half of their schedule was fairly soft. Clemson, who did play FSU tough, was fairly weak this year. Note- While FSU finished strong. They did have sort of a up and down season. They got on a roll, but did get blown out by Oklahoma by like 40. Next, you have the abysmal wake forest, Duke, Uva, and a mediocre at best Syracuse.

They did not get on a roll by beating Miami, FSU, Vatech, or NC State.

I think that #1 rushing defense is a number, and has no actual substance to it. If LSU/Auburn/Oregon played that schedule, they'd have the number 1 everything.

No doubt, the back end of their schedule was soft. But their #1 rush defense ranking is still pretty impressive.

*The most they gave up this year was 141 yards to FSU at 3.81 yards per carry. That's usually a pretty good day for most teams.

*Only one team averaged over 4 YPC in a single game. (Virginia 4.03)

*Notre Dame was the only team to have more than 1 rushing touchdown in a single game against them (we had 2, one of which was that beautiful option keeper by Crist).

*They held Nevada to a season low 114 rushing yards and 2.85 YPC, while keeping the Wolf Pack out of the end zone on the ground for the first time all year. That's pretty nuts. With the exception of the Hawaii game (everyone has to throw the ball against that defense), Nevada's lowest rushing output in 2010 was 214 yards and they could barely get 100 against BC.

I'm interested to see what they'll be returning on defense next year.

This is obviously an extreme minority opinion, but I am happy when all our opponents win their other games---I don't care about those guys; I just want US to look good. Playing the best rated schedule in the nation does that. And, as another probably unwelcome aside, that Kuechly [spelling?] is probably the best football player in the country and a real treat to watch [except against us].

I in honesty DO make an exception to the above rule when it comes to USC---just can't get behind them under any circumstances.

This past seaons beat down of BC was a beautiful thing to watch.

I have to admit though their run defense looked pretty good last night.

Anyone know who they return next year?

They lose a very good OL who should be a high draft pick, a couple players on D (Herzlig... I know I'm spelling it wrong but w/e), and return all of the suck at WR and that QB who should get better. Basically, they should be pretty bad next year but get better as the year goes on.

We'll still have Luke Kuechly dominating the middle. I expect us to throw a lot against BC.

BC will still have Keuchly and an outstanding OLB that was a freshman this year. I'm betting that Louis-Jean will see some playing time.

Return Harris, Rettig and most of the WR corps.

Also, don't look now but BC has put together a recruiting class thus far on par with ND.

In case you couldn't tell, Navy BC and ND are my top three teams ;)

I paid $25 to see the game this year. The only other PPV I've gotten this year was the USC game. I completely loathe both teams, and enjoy their tears as much as Cartman enjoys Scott Tenorman's.

"Oh the tears of unfathomable sadness, yummy!"
