I didn't feel good about this last night but now I think he will be Irish. Why decommitt now if you still are going to go to F$U. I think he goes to south bend on friday and starts class on Monday. If we get him, Tuitt , and Ishaq we are set for a while

I hope the Lynch's buy some warm, fleece, winter jackets for next week.

Maybe they can play in snow for the first time, too.

One underlying key (thank you Rush) in this recruitment that people don't think about is that he and Louis Nix are literally best friends, family friends at that. The thought of him playing right next to his best friend and on the opposite side of his new friend has to be appealing. This thing is a long way away from being done and there are so many crazy angles in this whole ordeal.

Another key aspect is the fact that this week (from the 10th to the 13th) is a recruiting dead period. However, per the NCAA calendar (link here: 2010-2011 NCAA Football Recruiting Calendar), there is an exception for players that are accepted for mid-year enrollment. What this exception is exactly, I have no idea. Mike Frank stated on ISD prevously he was under the impression that FSU could only contact Aaron once this week, while ND had unlimited contact because of the OV Aaron is scheduled to take on Friday. Whether this takes into account the previously noted exception, I am not sure. I have reached out to Mike and Coach D to ask, but Coach isn't entirely sure and Mike hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Either way, this saga is long from over, and a lot hinges on whether or not we make it past Wednesday without Aaron reporting to FSU, and if he takes the scheduled OV on Friday. I just thought the dead period and contact information was interesting and pertinent, so decided to share.

No doubt, biggest issue at hand. Jimbo is gonna have everything rolled his way until then... Let's hope the girls aren't too hot.

Think we could send the Pope?

Aww C'mon NDin L.A. you had 200+ guys sitting on Irish Envy on a Saturday night some of us for hours. Cut us some slack on the banter, as we where waiting for news that wasn't coming very quick anyway. I agree anyone saying anything derogatory should def be removed, but I didn't see much of that. For what it's worth, we were sitting around waiting to see if a 17 year old kid will commit to ND. It's really not that serious. Just my 2cents.

I absolutely get what you're saying, and that is why I kept a lot of those posts up last night. But think about it...this thread was treated like a chat room for the Colts game last night (which could have easily had its own thread), and the thread blows up to 50+ pages. In the meantime, posters that want to know the latest info keep asking the same questions over and over and over again, because the answers are buried like 5 pages before, and then people have to answer those questions, and suddenly the thread is 60+ pages.

The banter is fine and essential to our message board...I get that. But with this Lynch news breaking any moment and other members desperate for info just like yourselves, it makes it really hard to find the latest news while wading through posts about the Jets and the Colts.

But maybe I'm wrong, I don't know.

Well thats the thing, and why I posted about the dead period. If its true that FSU can only contact him once, it would seem there's a better chance of Wednesday passing without him in Tallahassee than if FSU can contact him all week and/or send in the calvary.

I had never heard that before now and I'm very surprised. Are you 100% sure on this? Not questioning you really, more just curious where you came across this info. Very enlightening to say the least.

Hopefully he comes to Nd and we continue to show the kid some love.

I understand where you are coming from. I am sure being a mod is tough cause the lines aren't exactly black and white. It was probably the right move in deleting them, they should have been elsewhere. We are thankful for all you guys do here. Just remember this the next time you want to ban me. lol

I really think Lynch ends up here. I, along with a lot of you, believe you don't decommit from a school just to commit there later in the week. Normally kids stay committed and either stay at the school or leave.

I can't confirm the family friends thing that IrishMan wrote, but it has been said several places that they are tight, so it wouldn't surprise me at all.

On Alice's facebook page she list Nix as a son. I don't know any facts on this and am not friends with her on facebook, but it is listed on her page.

They actually have each other listed in the family section of their FBs as brothers, and Mama Lynch has him listed as a son.

Since I refuse to add recruits on facebook I don't have her, but her profile public and that's true. Nix also has Aaron listed as a sibling.

That gives us a further advantage that we have a current player who can contact him based on a pre-existing relationship, the same way Floyd was allowed to contact Seantrel without it being a violation.

Hadn't known about this before, Nix has likely been a huge help in all of this.

We have literally analyzed this as much a possible it seems.... This recruitment should teach us a valuable lesson. Nothing is a done deal until the kid is in class(EE) or the fax comes through. I love the direction of the program with BK and company. I trust he is going to win a whole lot of games no matter who he signs. The thought of Nix, Tuitt, Lynch up front is down right scary if it comes to fruition. GO IRISH

a couple months ago when Aaron decommited from us , Louis said something to the effect of it's your life don't listen to these crazy fans talking to you. Just not sure he is gonna be the type of guy to try and "convince" him to commit to us.

If the FSU coaches are feeding him a line, that behavior will not change. ( sounds like Odgeron) I still think in his heart, he wants to go to ND. ND is unique in so many ways, but their ability to graduate their players, with meaningful degrees is an incredible asset. Aaron could go to any D2 school and still make it to the NFL. I hope he goes with his heart. Noone would spread their grandfathers ashes if they did not feel strongly about the place. Alice has clearly wanted Aaron in South Bend. People calling her a nutjob are being rash. I am stuck in the ATL airport. I would love to hear some good news.

Aaron de-committed so he could go to UMD! I knew it!

I'm guessing there won't be any news tonight.
