If he doesn't go to class Monday then I think we have him, but all signs are pointing towards him showing up right now.

I think this reminds me of the recruitment of Michael Meyers----he wreaks havoc--goes away----then returns to wreak more havoc then finally disappears for good---we think---then right at the finale he comes back again to spread one last frenzy of destruction until finally its put to rest

The thing is with michael meyers there is no happy ending, just hopefully an ending at some point.

My Lord, he absolutely destroyed the West O-line today. What a stud...damn it's hurt doubly if we don't get him for the second time. Kid is an absolute beast.

This kid is an absolute monster. Watched, Stephon, Aaron and Jernigan absolutely destroy that offensive line. These guys are something special. Although highly unlikely, can you imagine Tuitt and Lynch together playing for us?! Holy cow! These guys are fun to watch.

Does anyone have any actual hope that we still have a shot? Any news from a post game interview or something?

we won't hear anything until sunday night or monday.

if he goes to class at FSU monday, it's over. if he doesn't and takes his visit to ND on Friday, my gut says he is in class at ND on Jan 18th, sharing that FOURTH spot in the quad dorm with carrico, brindza, and golson

I'm Hoping him and tuitt got close and they both realized the potential of working together here at nd. I can only imagine the other Irish guys were hyping him up about the future of nd and how we finished the season.

How about we all show up and create a human chain barricade, just in case he shows up.

Total BEAST!

You guys should have seen the high school kids try to stop him, hilarious!
It was obvious that he was far better than the local competition but after seeing him play today.....WOW!

Apparently, he told Pete Sampson that he thinks that he is a better fit in the 4-3.

Reading the past couple posts it seams like we may have a legit shot. Hopefully playing with the cast he did today will help him make the right decision for a better future and come to ND.

Just read an article on him and he said if he chooses ND him and Tuitt would be nasty. Said it twice which makes me think he really likes tht idea. Also mentioned Fla St made his mom real mad with what they were doing. He is mad that the are recruiting DE's still. I can only assume by the article that they promised him and his mother that they wanted him and no other DE's.

Side note: He was real impressed that after everything with his decommitment ND never gave up on him and showed that they really care for him.

I feel good that he will be Irish again but we shall see...

could u post a link? id love to read it.
i just got an update from ISDUpdate on twitter that Alford is meeting with him tonight.
I think Lynch is gonna be IRISH again.

Normally, I would completley agree with this. He does fit the mold better for a 4-3 defense.

BUT!!!

You throw him on one side and Tuitt on the other, and NIX up fornt, and he is a PERFECT mold for the 3-4. For whatever reason, people think that dline in a 3-4 just arent all that flashy or good, and don't get the pub they would if they were in a 4-3.

Would be sweet to see him come back to irish. I think a 3-4 or 4-3 wouldn't matter to him. He is play maker. And very talented.

Wow he really did destroy the West O-line all day. Lynch, Tuitt, Drew, Jergans, Simmons and Williams all caused havoc today. Still, none the less he was the best player on the East Def.

On a side not, Heggraty held up very well against that talent!

Alford is probably our best recruiter so if anyone can get him to come it would be this man.

Realism time... chances are we are not going to get Lynch, but we do have a chance here. It would be basically on the level of when we pulled Manti Te'o out of a hat. Not impossible, but we should be hardly disappointed or surprised if he sticks with FSU. I'm just glad he is giving us another look and manned up about the way he decommitted. I give him a lot of respect for doing that and it shows a lot of maturity.

Either way, even if we don't get Ishaq or Lynch we will still have a solid crop of young guys with Shembo, Councell, Rabasa, Tuitt and a growing Kona. But I'm not kidding myself that Lynch and Ishaq don't have incredible potential to be game changers. I&L are the kind of recruits that can mean the difference between a 10-2 team that can't quite get over the hump and a 12-0 team... I hope everyone is praying to whatever deities they believe in because we are going to need it.

Colleague Bob Wieneke reports from San Antonio that standout defensive end prospect Aaron Lynch of Cape Coral, Fla., will meet with members of the coaching staffs from #NotreDame & Florida State tonight and then announce his college choice after that tonight.
