Only problem is IShaq is a OLB in our system and we trail for Niklas if I remember correctly. Add in the fact we lose most of our DL in the next two seasons and DE becomes a huge issue. Plus I think next cycle we will be concentrating more at NT then DE so you take all comers at DE at this point. Adding a 4* DE would allow us to move either Springmann or Carrico over to the OL to finish off recruiting there for this cycle as well. Stocking the cupboards now is a good thing, gives us more margin for error in future classes.

Dammit man, stop making sense...What he said.

Based on his size, I have to believe he projects as an OLB in this system. If you go back to what Kelly said when he first got here, what he has said several times since and the profiles of the guys we are recruiting, he is not big enough to play DE. Rabassa was a DE in HS and projects as a OLB in this system, as was Ishaq, who also is being recruited for OLB. Kelly is looking for taller, thicker DE's that can carrymore weight (i.e. Tuitt, Springmann, Carrico, Niklas and Scarlett). That said, he would be a great p/u as an OLB.

He was being recruited as an OLB. He is not a DE in a 3-4. He is built a lot like Councell. ND recruiting him again would probably depend a lot on Ishaq's decision. Initially, it looked like we were going for 4 OLB, but I would assume that 3 will be the final count and hopefully that 3rd spot is filled with Ishaq, even though Beyer is a great player.

Except Counsell runs a 4.4
