Councell had 10 tackles, 1 sack and a blocked punt.

No idea about Golson.

Guys please explain to me how Kris Frost won the defensive MVP and not Ben Counsell? Look at the noted stats...

Kris Frost- 7 tackles. 3 of those tackles were for a loss. Also had 1 pass break-up.

Ben Counsell- 13 tackles. 1.5 tackles for a loss and 1 sack. Also had a blocked punt.

Really? Frost got this award based soely on hype. ND fans should be more than excied for Counsell. This kid is an animal.

It also notes that Golson played the best game of all the qb including Justin Worley who just won gatorade player of the year. ND recruits showed out guys. We should be proud.

Quarterback Play
Coming into the game, much of the talk was about the solid group of quarterbacks on both teams. However, the play under center and in the shotgun was ugly at times from the big four of Marquise Williams, Vad Lee, Everett Golson and Justin Worley.

Of the four, it was clear that Golson had the best game. He completed 9 of his 15 attempts for 79 yards and had a couple nice runs as well. Most importantly he didn't turn the ball over and also connected on a touchdown pass. However, the others didn't fare as well.

Not bad at all for playing with a team you've never really practiced with.
