Does that stat mean anything to the NCAA or anyone? We don"t win every game, but our players will win the game of life.

Proud...Proud...Proud of my beloved old school. Almost makes this old man cry. Somewhere in this crappy greedy world, there's a special place still. God bless Notre Dame.

The only problem is that much of the top talent doesn't seem care about their education. But for the best student athletes, this should be a HUGE selling point, and a point of pride for ND. We have been down for awhile, but to get to the top and also maintain this graduation rate would be epic.

Both Auburn and Oregon are "disqualified." Interesting indeed.

Tell me how Auburn ended up with a 100% "white" graduation rate -- Is that an anomaly? Is it an error? Or is it caused by a gimmick, like Fulmer with his ADD kids, or LSU with “academic” scholarships for any student from Louisiana with above a 3.2 GPA?* I mean how do you register any meaningful stat of 100% for something like this?

* After fixing.

The only function of the statistical compiler in splitting the graduation rates into "color" categories is apparently and primarily to find if there are data to suggest that some programs are treating the handling of these kids differently.

Theoretically, if the schools recruited them at all, they thought that they could graduate. The fact that a category of student is NOT graduating at the same rate as another category of student indicates that the school has not really cared about graduation as a priority. This not-caring has occurred either in the recruiting assessment itself, or in the academic treatment once on campus, or both. Any of those answers are damning.

Another statistic worth viewing, if it existed, would be the relative graduation rates from different socio-economic backgrounds. That would give a sounding board of fact which might remove us a bit from couching this in racial terms. Any way you look at it, many programs don't give a rat's ### about the athletes, and many don't care regardless of category.

I don't know whats more eye opening. A 100% white athlete graduation rate or a 49% black athlete graduation rate? Clearly something is wrong there.
