It'd be absolutely great to have them back. I feel like having Floyd back is especially huge to give guys like George Atkinson, Davaris, and anyone else we add the ability to develop and redshirt if necessary. Theo, Floyd, TJ, Rudy, an improved Cierre Wood... whoever ends up at QB is going to have a lot of talent to throw to.

I really cannot believe that the money machine is going to stop. No one wins here.

yea but 18 games are stupid and the players know the preseason is important and putting 18 games would destroy careers faster

I'm not hearing good things in regards to Mr. Rudolph lockout or no lockout

From whom? For what it's worth, I've always thought Rudy had the biggest incentive to leave early over Floyd. Floyd has yet to show durability and has not put together a full season either. He is projecting as a late first to second round pick... he could be a top 10 pick if he had a big year and stayed healthy for the whole season.

Both of them will likely land in the 2nd round if they left. Not too many teams have a true need for a TE, especially so much so that they'll use their 1st rd selection on Rudy. Plus, he's coming off of a leg injury (albeit not the most serious type).

Look at the past few drafts. In 2010, one 1st rd (#21 - Cincy) and one 2nd rounder (#42 - NE). In 2009, one 1st rd (#20 - Lions) and one 2nd rd (#64 - Den). In 2008, one 1st rd (#30 - Jets) and two 2nd rd (#38 - Seattle and #48 Skins).

Rudy is similar to Carlson, who was a 2nd rounder, though probably a bit better imo. However, the problem is few teams need a TE that bad. Carolina, Cleveland, Tennessee, Bills, and KC are probably the only ones with a real need. KC drafted one last year in the 3rd round, so they likely won't opt to use their 1st rd pick on Rudy. The Bills have far bigger problems than a TE, and they don't throw to the TE much either. Titans have Scaife, but they have so many bigger problems than TE. CLE's Watson is good enough considering all of their other problems. Carolina is a disaster and will have too high of a pick to spend it on a TE.

Even looking at the teams with a TE need, it's hard to see them spending a 1st rd pick to get one.

Floyd is the one with a more realistic shot of going in the 1st rd. However, WR looks to be a loaded position this year. Floyd's injuries and the subpar year make it difficult for him to jump over those other WRs. However, I think the Bears would pick him up at #23 and give the drama king one last chance to prove he's a decent QB.

the only reason this sucks is because I know a team I hate will win the super Bowl this year. That means im gonna have to wait two years before that bad taste is taken out of my mouth

That also means that we would have to play Luck again. Though with the kind of defense we have been playing as of late, I'm much less worry.

Even if a lockout is imminent it doesn't mean that everyone will opt to stay in school. Guys like Luck and others destined to be picked in the top half of the first round will most definately come out. The season doesn't officially end until after the draft, so even if there is a lock out, there will still be a draft this coming up year. These early first rounders will not want to risk injury and see their stock plummet, especially when you consider that there will be a lot more players eligible for the 2012 draft than usual.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement ends in March, which is before the draft. But even if their is a draft, which I am not positive either way, the players still won't get any money until an agreement is agreed upon. Thats why current NFL players were told to start saving their money. Which could be over a year, so being a college kid coming out, they won't have any money, unless an agent takes care of them.

Well, if a lockout does translate into a return of Floyd and Rudolph then I am all for it.

Regardless, I am probably in the minority, but watching NFL games is almost intolerable anymore. Everything is a constant show and how many stats and annoying side stories they can shove down our throats. Between the sideline reports and the constant commercials:

kickoff, 3 and out, punt, commercial, 80 yard bomb for TD, extra point, commercial, kickoff, commercial, 2 plays, timout, commercial, next play injury, commercial, come back, player being rolled out on stretcher, commercial, 4th play punt, commercial, next play timeout, commercial, 7 plays, touchdown, extra point, commercial, kickooff, commercial, 6 plays, 2 minute warning, commercial, 3 plays, final timout before the half, commercial, lucky touchdown with 5 seconds left, extra point, commercial, kickoff, halftime, commercial, halftime report, commercial, halftime report commercial, halftime report, commercial.

And the cycle continues.

Also, ever go to a pro game? I went to the Eagles game Thursday night and that is also torture. Commercial breaks except your staring at people instead of flipping the channel.

The only thing I'll miss is fantasy football. God knows my Redskins are brutal. I honestly will not miss the NFL. Even the Super Bowl is hassle anymore. Although, I do like block pools.

Lockout for all I care.
