Yes that is how it goes, one last time before the games this weekend...depending on what bowl you want to see us in root accordingly:

Wash St. wins = Holiday (vs either Oklahoma St or Missouri)
UConn looses and WV wins = Champs (vs either Miami, NC State, Maryland)
West Virginia and UConn wins = Sun (vs one of the teams above Champs does not take)

I honeslty wouldn't mind playing Oklahoma St. or MIZZU, I don't know what our chances would be but it would be nice to watch the game. Just to get a good idea of where ND truly does stand.

I know the most common idea would be to get a bowl that a team could win so they have momentum going into the next year, but I would just like to see how talented ND is and what kind of fight they would put up. Just my opinion.

I think they could easily give both of those teams a run for their money, and of course they would win. Go Irish!!

Like I said earlier this equation is not a definite Florida Citrus Sports can choose who ever they want they are not required to adhere to any specific guidelines other that ND be bowl eligible. From what I heard today even if UCONN and WVU win ND still has a very good chance to be invited to Orlando.

From what I've read we could possibly play in the Sun Bowl vs. Miami. That would be my dream scenario. Quick way to re-start the rivalry, and a team we could beat.

Not to mention, I'm off that day and the game's at 2.

I'd be battle ready.

In 07 we had a bunch of over-achievers who ran into a team much more athletic than us. Right now we have a bunch of under-achievers who are just starting to play to their potential. No way we get killed in a bowl, and if we do... it will let everybody know exactly what they need to do in the off-season.

But Floyd takes things to another level, in a heart beat. But maybe just my opinion.

It's tough to separate the receiver from his QB, and those two guys had an unbelievable amount of chemistry together. Whenever things got tight Quinn would trust Samardzija to make a play and he almost always would.

I'd take Floyd over Shark in the NFL, but as far as what he did while wearing the golden helmet... few have been better.

i understand what you are saying in that sense, but that is the 2007 season we were talking about the 2007 Sugar Bowl LSU vs. ND. so that would be that 2006 season and i am not sure what Grimes stats would be then

I think you may be right, but it's tough to judge chemistry. All I know is that what those 2 guys had under Charlie was special. When the game was on the line, I felt like Quinn could take his drop and make the throw to Jeff with a blindfold on. And Jeff could have run the route and caught the ball with a blindfold too. They had tons of chemistry, trust and moxy. That's why I'm a little worried about our QB situation next year...it's going to be tough for that sort of special relationship to develop if we have 3 or 4 or 5 QBs battling for the top spot.

Selfishly, I'm rooting for the Sun Bowl. I will be in a minivan travelling to see my in-laws on the 28th, which puts me away from the TV for the Champs Sports bowl. I'm a big Huskie fan tonite.
